There was a "comedy" C&W duo in Britain in the early '80s, can't remember their name but they did an album called Taking the 'O' out of Country

MacLean & MacLean, that was, Canadian not British. They were actually arrested in my town for using "obscene language" during a performance. (LOL '70s Ontario prudery)

All the cheerin crowds
at all my sold out shows
Ain't worth a bucket of KFC
as my loneliness grows

Together we were a system,
like a Super NES
Without you i am nothing
an Atari Lynx at best

I do all kinds of drugs
Just to forget about you
(Tho if my P.O. asks
I'll deny that part is true)

I spent my whole life lyin
But what I say is true
I wasted my life fingerin' chords
When I shoulda been fingerin' you

When a whole lot of Decembers are showin' in your face
Your auburn hair has faded and silver takes it's place
You'll be just as lovely and I'll still be around
And if I can I know that I'd still love to lay you down

That’s an excellent Conway verse.

How'd we miss the blunt entendres of "Rub It In" by Billy "Crash" Craddick?

Lie beside me on the sand
Put some lotion in your hand
Come on and make me feel nice
N' kiss me once or twice
Say you love me again

Then rub it in, rub it in
Rub it in, rub it in
I feel the tingle begin
You're gettin' under my skin
Rub it in, rub it in

(Do it)
Feels good
(Do it)
(Do it)
Put a little bit on my left shoulder
(Do it)

Yeah
(Do it)
Put a little bit right here
(Do it)
Yeah
(Do it)

Turn your radio on
And find a slow grooving song
Baby, whisper in my ear
Say the things I wanna hear
Make me know your love is strong

And rub it in, rub it in
Rub it in, rub it in
I feel the tingle begin
You're gettin' under my skin
Rub it in, rub it in

Put a little on my nose
Put a little on my toe
Put it on my back and my sacroiliac
And a dab on my chinny-chin-chin

Rub it in, rub it in
Rub it in, rub it in
I feel the tingle begin
You're gettin' under my skin
Rub it in, rub it in

Rub it in, rub it in
Rub it in, rub it in
I feel the tingle begin
You gettin' under my skin
Rub it in, rub it in

Gene Watson's fantastic 1975 hit Love in the Hot Afternoon starts off like this:
"From somewhere outside
I hear the street vendor cry, 'filé gumbo'
From my window I see him
Going down the street
And he don't know
That she fell right to sleep
In the damp tangled sheets so soon
After love in the hot afternoon"

XP That's were I saw/heard it and then subsequently looked it up. I was a little surprised that it was a real song, as I only knew it as "Plug It In", a jingle rewrite used in commercials for plug-in air fresheners.

Have we talked about "I'm Your Toy" /:"Hot Burrito #1"?

You may be sweet and nice
That won't keep you warm at night
Cause I'm the one who taught you how
To do the things you're doing now
He may feel all your charms
He may hold you in his arms
But I'm the one who let you in
I was right beside you then

Once upon a time
You let me feel you deep inside
And nobody knew, nobody saw
Do you remember the way you cried

I found this LP decades ago in a dollar bin, and was doing some searching a few years ago to figure out how it got made, discovering that Nathan "Chinga" Chavin testified against murderer Robert Durst, who was his long time friend:

"Whispering" Bill Anderson was kind of known for the same type of seduction country songs as Conway Twitty. This one is also a bit of a country/disco hybrid.

I can't take any longer baby I mean I can't wait any longer
Mhm I gotta have you I gotta know how it is to touch you
To hold you to feel you our lives have touched our minds have touched
And I can't wait any longer for our bodies to touch our souls to touch
I can't wait any longer this feelin's gettin' stronger
Satisfy my hunger you're the only one who can
Where do I have to go what do I have to do
Who do I have to lie to so I can lie with you I can't wait any longer
Patience has never been one of my virtues baby when I want something I want it now
And I want you now I want to kiss you now I want to love you now
I can't wait any longer...
(I can't wait I can't wait doo doo doo) baby I can't wait any longer
I want you now hmm now yeah (I can't wait I can't wait...)

"Neon Baby" by Annie Bosko

[Verse 1]
Mhh, yeah
Baby, what you say we say so long and leave right after this song?
I've been dancing 'round with you and all I wanna do is dance you back home
Two-step me to the kitchen, to the bedroom with nothing on
But the candle on the mantle and some vinyl playing Haggard and Jones

[Chorus]
I'll be your neon baby
I'll drive you midnight crazy
I'll hit your lips like whiskey
When you lean in to kiss me
Put that whiskey down and kiss me again
And again
Turn me on
I'll be your neon baby

[Verse 2]
Hey cowboy, give me that cowboy hat and watch this cowgirl light up the room
No, nothing gets me buzzing like loving on you

[Chorus]
I'll be your neon baby
I'll drivе you midnight crazy
I'll hit your lips like whiskey
When you lеan in to kiss me
Put that whiskey down and kiss me again
And again
Turn me on
I'll be your neon baby

[Bridge]
Oooh
Hmm-mh
Let's pour up another one 'cause we ain't done until the sun comes up
And when it goes back down again

[Chorus]
I'll be your neon baby
I'll drive you midnight crazy
I'll hit your lips like whiskey
When you lean in to kiss me
Put that whiskey down and kiss me again
And again
Turn me on
I'll be your neon baby
Yeah turn me on
I'll be your neon baby
Yeah turn me on
Oh I'll be your neon baby

A nice, wholesome song about checking out the babes of the phone company: "The Belles of Southern Bell" by Del Reeves

There's a Southern Bell Telephone Company in our town
Every afternoon, I'm right there hangin' around
Them telephone operators walking up and down the street
Any fool could figure out what I'm there to see

Oh, I'm watching the belles of Southern Bell go by
Swinging their hips and rolling them pretty eyes
Them high-heels clickin' make me start a-kickin' my heels up, to the sky
Watching the belles of Southern Bell go by

Well, the google-eyed traffic cop out in the middle of the street
A-lookin' every which-a-way, except where he oughta be
With both arms waving, giving everyone the "go-ahead" sign
You can tell directing traffic's not on his mind

'Cause he's a-watching the belles of Southern Bell go by
Swinging their hips and rolling them pretty eyes
Them high-heels clickin' make me start a-kickin' my heels up, to the sky
Watching the belles of Southern Bell go by

They say that the hemline's gonna be shorter, this year
Well, that sounds like mighty sweet music to my ears
I wouldn't have you thinking that I'm the wrong kind of guy
I've just sort of got an eye for the finer things of life

And I'm watching the belles of Southern Bell go by
Swinging them hips and rolling them pretty eyes
Them high-heels clickin' make me start a-kickin' my heels up, to the sky
Watching the belles of Southern Bell go by
Yeah, I'm watching the belles of Southern Bell go by

Ol' dawg Del likes to fantasize: "Girl On The Billboard"

Doo da doo doo doo
A doo da doo doo doo

Who is the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway?

Rolling down the highway in my Jimmy hauling freight
From Chicago to St. Louis, Lord, I see her every day
A double clutching weasel like me
Can hardly ever get a girl to look at him that way

Like the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

Well, what a girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

I bet it wouldn't take her very long to get gone
If someone would pull a dirty trick and take her towel away
I slow my Jimmy down to 20
That's how many wrecks I see there every day

Caused by the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

A doo da doo doo doo
A doo da doo doo doo

Oh, I love the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

I guess I'm getting bolder 'cause I'd rather kiss and hold her
Than just keep looking at her every day
At 4:45, coffee drinking, eating time, Jimmy shimmy
While I woke up the artist that painted the display

Of the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

Doggone that girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

Sleepy-headed painter said the girl wasn't real
And I'd better get the-, on my way
On Route 66 from the billboard to Chicago
You'll find tiny pieces of my heart scattered every which a-way

Shattered by the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard
In the field near the big old highway

A doo doo doo doo
A doo doo doo doo
A doo da doo doo doo
A doo doo doo doo

fantasizin' about doo doo

Genius has this listed as by Glenn Tillbrook(!?!?), but I knew it by The Cornell Hurd Band: "The Genitalia of A Fool"

Everybody's got a hobby
Everybody's got a schtick
Please, consider me eccentric
Don't think of me as sick.

Didn't mean to spoil your party
Didn't mean to be uncool
But I'm standing here holding
The genitalia of a fool.

'Cause I thought if I exposed myself, you'd fall in love with me
But when I burst in to my chagrin, you had company.

I'm afraid I've shown your family
The wrong kind of family jewels
'Cause I'm standing here holding
The genitalia of a fool.

Well, I guess the show is over
So I'll just go on home
I'll pack my prize possession
It's the nicest thing I own.

Didn't mean to scare the children
Or make your grandma drool
But I'm standing here holding
The genitalia of a fool.

And I pray that you'll forgive me and try to understand
But I'm afraid you'll always picture me with my whole world in my hands.

And I'll go through life just wondering
How fate could be so cruel
Left me standing here holding
The genitalia of a fool.

Now I wish that you were holding
The genitalia of this fool.

I'm guessing this has the tune of "Labelled with Love" so that might be why...
