Maybe no one wanted to take the risk with his past drug problems and the child porn allegations?

But I was saying the same thing about K Mart mid season.

Eh, the drug ban is 7+ seasons ago, and he was 4+ seasons worth of back-on-track bball w/ the Nuggs. Seemed like the kiddiepr0n allegations got sussed out pretty quickly after they were reported, and his nosedive on-court seemed directly related to that. Just thought that the air was probably clear enough at the beginning of the season for someone to give him a shot, esp. as a high-energy player whom you wouldn't have to spend much $$ on. Like, worst case scenario, the team that would've signed him for league minimum could just cut him.

Just think he was such a natural fit on that Nuggs team; would've been nice if it'd continued to work out there. Either way, happy to see him producing somewhere.

xp hahahaha please tell me that's Wade's reaction to Jennings' prediction.

I was pretty impressed by that actually, he could have just swatted it away, but he went the extra mile by being gracious and pretending the Heat would actually have to take it one game at a time and even make an effort to beat the Bucks.

On why he isn't on social media, Spurs Tim Duncan says: "Because I have no desire to tell you what I'm doing."

i'm utterly convinced that at some point in the next few years kevin harlan is going to murder a stripper after a cocaine binge in some nba city like dallas, phoenix or okc

moullet, Monday, 22 April 2013 21:24 (eleven years ago) link

Marc Gasol defensive player of the year. Good thing NBA finally give this to a rim/paint protector who is miles better than any highflyer. Also his understanding of PnR defense is just another level.

Heh, Pacers held up their side-- plenty of fun PG / Lance plays, out-of-control HBro coast-to-coast dunks, etc. Keeping fingers crossed that Knicks/Pacers both plow their way through the 1st round so there's at least one solid 2nd round matchup in the East. The only worry is that George Hill might aggravate his abdominal strain from a few weeks ago; Pacers won't go anywhere fun w/ Augustin at the point. I'd almost rather move HBro into the starting lineup and shift Paul George/Lance to sg/pg if something happens to Hill.

Hawks ... not really sure how they're the 6th seed! Aside from Horford, Teague and Johnson, no one else really showed up. Korver couldn't keep up on defense; Josh Smith was very low-energy; whole team looked ready for the off-season. Horford could've had a pretty big game-- had a slew of beautiful moves on DWest in the first half for maybe three or four big jams; problem was that Horford didn't even play 30 minutes. Although no one else should care, I love watching the George Hill vs. Jeff Teague matchup. To me, both play a very Indianapolis-style of pg (Conley a little less so ... I forget, but totally wouldn't be surprised that he moved to Indiana for high school). Cool to see them squaring off; just sad that Teague doesn't have much help.

Rough to look at the Hawks' roster for next year, too. Total shitshow. Hope they don't desperately sign Josh Smith this offseason. Heez, from the team as it stands now, who would you want to see return besides Horford and Teague? Just such a MOR roster; Atl deserves better.

brony james (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 23 April 2013 00:02 (eleven years ago) link

Have been waiting since November to type this: hope the Bulls regret waiving Kyrylo Fesenko earlier this season, esp. since they stuck w/ Radmanovic instead.

he's an elite post defender for sure. Sanders or Hibbert deserved it more but they don't have star status.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 23 April 2013 00:22 (eleven years ago) link

Marc has incredible footwork and anticipation, he also has reached the Timmy/KG level of defensive captain telling ppl where to be

Hibbert is fine but doesn't do much for me

Sanders blocks lots of shots and is hilarious but otherwise I wasn't watching lots of bux on purpose even w league pass so I dunno

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 23 April 2013 00:42 (eleven years ago) link

Heez, from the team as it stands now, who would you want to see return besides Horford and Teague?

Well the bench is kind of depleted atm, lou wiliams will be back next year and zaza's a solid backup 5. the rook john jenkins proved that he can play in the league - he's a great shooter and can actually defend. i'd be cool with resigning ivan if the price is right... outside of that it should be a complete rebuild.

the fact that ferry ditched marvin and joe and somehow came out of that with a 1st rnd pick is encouraging. josh smith will get over paid but i agree with simmons that he's actually underrated at this point. the other question is about the coach. not sure if the fact that this roster was a 6 seed has more to do with larry drew or the fact that the east is mostly garbage.

i'd love to steal pek from minny and build slowly from there.

Heez, Tuesday, 23 April 2013 00:49 (eleven years ago) link

pj carlesimo doesn't seem to be shortening his rotation and threw out a full-on second unit featuring lots of kris humphries and jerry stackhouse, meanwhile this is probably gonna play boozer 47 minutes and noah is visibly straining to even get to lopez to defend outside shots
