what's on the turntable, 2013?

started with an unidentified japanese live record released on polydor sometime in the seventies (first side is neil youngish solo acoustic stuff, second side is slightly more rocking with psychish backing) whoever it is sounds kind of gloomy, followed by:

the jacks - 2nd show (1968 japanese (folk)psych, rerelease of an originally fan club only live lp)
ghost - snuffbox immanence, hypnotic underworld, in stormy nights, holy high 7"
damon & naomi & batoh & kurihara - it's all over now, baby blue/yoo doo right 7" (don't have much time for d&n, but the baby blue cover is beautiful)
bardo pond - dragonfly/blues tune 7"
tom carter - phantom lung/temescal blues 7"
christina carter - gold soundz 7" (3 short solo guitar pieces, always reminds me of the garcia love scene improvs from the zabriskie point soundtrack)
loren mazzacane connors/christina carter - meditations on the ascension of blind joe death vol.1

other scruggs bros is better (nothing on either record comes close to that one heavy jam, "if anyone calls"). this one is all covers but there's some cool versions (kershaw's "louisiana man" and goffin/king "road to nowhere" are the highlights).
