this game = my life right now

nearly completed it. it's weird how easy this game is at points. like sometimes it's TOO easy. it just keeps giving you loads of items, more than you can carry, with places to rest and tool-up every few minutes. then next minute it'll become stupidly difficult. i imagine this is all very deliberate. i'm getting fed up of the photographer rocking up all the time.

Dungeon Man cracked me up! The dungeon is stupidly easy - you can't really go wrong. My only regret is walking straight to the palm trees as soon as he joined my team so I didn't get a chance to use him in a fight

The good news is, you're only about 2/3rds through the game.
The bad news is, you have the Stongehenge base full of teleporting, backstabbing Starmen ahead of you.

yeah I'm on the Starmen bit right now and it's proving incredibly difficult. Even though I feel like I'm HP-d and PP-d up to the gills, they're total assholes. I got in a right f--ing up with a Starman/Robot combo who just kept reviving themselves just as I was about to kill them off.

so now apparently I took a trip inside my own mind and now i'm a robotic replicant of myself. this game...

got a feeling Giygas is nearby. I'm looking forward to getting my life back soon

I completed it! Little bit annoyed I didn't explore a bit more of the 'completed world' before going home and finishing the game off properly, but hey never mind

Yeah I did that. I was basically a billionaire by the time I completed it.

If you're interested, dog latin, Mother 3 (a translated rom of which can be found fairly easily) is possibly even better, although it's a much sadder and darker game.

Oooh, I didn't know there was a translation. I might look into cracking my SNES mini and loading it on. So is Mother 3 an indie / open source translation then?

'twas for GBA but that might be emulatable
back when i played it though, it was an endless source of frustration that the hardware couldn't be emulated perfectly enough on PC to make the rhythm combat work right - that said I still loved the game so that should tell you something

The combat system works fine on a tablet with the My Boy emulator and an 8bitdo SNES controller.

My only gripe is that the music in Mother 3 is nowhere as good/iconic as Earthbound's; do not play if you hate saxophones.

I finally received the SNES Classic and stumbled upon Earthbound which I didn't know about until 36 hours ago. It got addicting very quickly.
