i think it's because he's dressed like ali g and has striped socks and is in a weird pose.

and is in a weird AMAZING pose.

idk, think because drake is one of the most marketable sex symbols out there right now so that when a pic escapes the careful clutches of his pr machine of him looking ridiculous it hits everybody right in the meme zone

also the internet memes everything nowadays

i don't think this was escaping his PR team at all, it's just that he's wearing dada in 2013 and looks like hilarious on-the-nose pastiche of late 90s rap fashion cliches cf the photo of tarantino

So much of Drake's success is as much because of how he trolls the idea of how a rap superstar should look/sound/talk as in spite of it, for better or worse. This stuff is not really a PR problem to be overcome, at least as long as he doesn't treat it as one.

I feel like the moment he shows any embarrassment and, like, tries to get pictures pulled off the internet like Beyonce, then he's in trouble

he posted one of the memes on his instagram account, he's very much in on the joke

but not totally in on the joke. i do think he thinks he's really cool.

Yeah part of what makes me hate on him even more is when he tries to be in on it, like doing the 'wheelchair jimmy dance' or whatever
