probably it is, but it's not like they're trading a healthy dude here

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 February 2013 01:58 (eleven years ago) link

maybe not but if they wanted to trade dwight they could probably find someone who could actually play within the next 12 months

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:00 (eleven years ago) link

maybe the lakers should try developing their own talent instead of grabbing broken guys who get a lot of all-star votes

Clay, Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:02 (eleven years ago) link

well they traded all their draft picks for steve nash (broken guy with a a lot of all-star votes) so that might not be possible

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:02 (eleven years ago) link

oopsies

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:04 (eleven years ago) link

sometimes wright thompson is a little too much for me but that was fantastic

Clippers and Jazz have "a level of mutual interest" in a trade which would send Eric Bledsoe to Utah in exchange for Paul Millsap

moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:34 (eleven years ago) link

interesting

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:35 (eleven years ago) link

wtf?

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:35 (eleven years ago) link

millsap's a solid player, he's gonna come off the bench? or play the 3? idgi

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:36 (eleven years ago) link

clippers should leave a good thing the hell alone imo

inste grammophon (rogermexico.), Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:36 (eleven years ago) link

paul millsap is pretty amazing

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:37 (eleven years ago) link

well they hate playing deandre in crunch time vs good teams and a millsap-blake frontline would be pretty damn good... def better than what they can throw out there as the alternative

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:38 (eleven years ago) link

"amazing" is not a word i'd use to describe millsap. i mean, he's better than bledsoe right now but the fit is weird. he's 6-8 and doesn't play much taller than that

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:41 (eleven years ago) link

but it's like they've spent so long as an org constantly tinkering and filling the holes left when donald sterling refuses to pay anyone beyond their rookie deal that they don't know how to just enjoy having an actual good basketball team for once.

there's a good piece waiting to be written on whatever it was that knocked donald sterling off his donkey and stood him up with the desire in his heart to win it all just once before shuffling off this mortal coil...

inste grammophon (rogermexico.), Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:42 (eleven years ago) link

what!!

乒乓, Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:44 (eleven years ago) link

"much" is the key word, he's a nice rebounder for his size for sure, but he's not a shot-blocker or anything

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:46 (eleven years ago) link

again talent-wise he makes the clippers better on paper right now. i just think the fit's weird

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:47 (eleven years ago) link

btw the basketball-reference twitter feed is tweeting links to all of jordan's 50 point games today in honor of his bday. here's a 50 point, 14 rebound, 6 assist, 3 steal, one block, zero-turnover effort http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/198911030CHI.html

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:50 (eleven years ago) link

i mean, the only team against which a blake-millsap frontline would be a problem would be memphis, but it's not exactly like deandre jordan is a good post up defender anyway

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:52 (eleven years ago) link

millsap's PER has been at 20 for the last 2.5 seasons, you could prob say that for like 15 other guys in the league

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:53 (eleven years ago) link

xpost loool 1st game of the season

moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:07 (eleven years ago) link

i understand what kevin is saying but the clippers system on defense dont really rely on deandre shot blocking abilities. i mean like pacers/hibbert, noah/bulls, dwight/magic, drummond/pistons

personally if i were the clips i wouldnt trade deandre.

moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:16 (eleven years ago) link

i think it's a bad use of money to pay $11m a year to a guy that you're deathly afraid of being on the court vs a good team with less than 5 mins left in the game

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:18 (eleven years ago) link

wait, the deal was bledsoe for millsap i thought

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:19 (eleven years ago) link

yeah idk why we're talking about deandre but i would totally trade him in a millisecond in the right deal

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:20 (eleven years ago) link

sure, the KG deal for example

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:22 (eleven years ago) link

deandre for kg, ok
deandre + bledsoe, no

moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:46 (eleven years ago) link

lol well the celtics aren't going to trade their best player for deandre jordan straight-up. i'd do jordan + bledsoe if i were the clips

k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 18:58 (eleven years ago) link

i'd do that easily.... they could prob get a pick back too

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 19:58 (eleven years ago) link

bledsoe is gonna be a great player but as long as CP3 is there he'll never be able to fully reach his potential. i think they should definitely try and deal him this year for a major piece. they could make a run to the finals.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 19:58 (eleven years ago) link

The 'Free Eric Bledsoe' movement picking up steam on ILH.

Aimless, Sunday, 17 February 2013 20:24 (eleven years ago) link

cant picture that

"I just started yelling and going crazy," Harden said during Friday afternoon's All-Star media session. "[...] Just to hear my name called, and I saw it on TV as well — it just felt like such a great individual accomplishment."

moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 20:37 (eleven years ago) link

well he had some playing time when chris paul was hurt

Would be sweet for the Clips to keep Bledsoe but he's such obvious tradebait, pretty straightforward "sell high" move. Think Millsap makes any team he goes to better and would probably fit better in a situation where he's 3rd/4th option. Only worry w/ the Clips would be Millsap clogging up the lane I guess.

What sucks about DeAndre is that he needs an amazing / creative pg to have any effect on the offensive end, so he'll probably put up worse numbers wherever he ends up.

Faried, Spirit Manimal (CompuPost), Sunday, 17 February 2013 20:39 (eleven years ago) link

it's kinda weird how Nash looks totally washed up but his shooting numbers are still insane; makes me wonder what he would do with a roster that actually made any kind of sense for him

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 February 2013 22:45 (eleven years ago) link

yeah he's just noticeably never in the flow of the game

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 22:58 (eleven years ago) link

Because you have to be a lot of patient [laughs] when you think you are ready and the doctor's saying, like, "You still have two more weeks before you can run." And you are at home sitting on the couch, thinking on a basketball court and trying, like, not to think, because [puts hand to heart] it hurts inside. It's something. You have to be patient.

why not bledsoe for favors?

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 February 2013 23:34 (eleven years ago) link

cuz the jazz don't wanna trade favors?

J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 23:38 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah Jazz have been pretty dead-set on Favors/Kanter.

Faried, Spirit Manimal (CompuPost), Monday, 18 February 2013 00:17 (eleven years ago) link

do not watch the nba all-star pre-game feature
