this is a very symbolic dream! by eating the leeches, perhaps it means that whatever is draining the energy and vigor from you (school? stress? sandbox woes?) is also making you feel self-conscious or isolated. this is normal for someone coming to the end of their studies and preparing to embark on a new phase of her life. my own spin would be that eating the leeches is a way of addressing or trying to conquer your feelings, but i'm not sure if that is on point or not. alternately, eating could represent being consumed by these things. even though you are the one doing the consuming, you are filling yourself up with these vigor-draining little suckers. maria callas once ate a parasite in order to lose weight and further her career. perhaps your unconscious believes that by consuming these things, you will somehow become harder, better, faster, and/or stronger.

now that i think about it they only looked like leeches. i don't remember them having leech-like mouths though. they might have just been slimy black worms.

i think it doesn't matter if they were leeches or worms, the fact that you thought they were leeches initially is significant.

a dream my dad was playing some kind of dead pool game (but it wasn't a dead pool) and he predicted the death of a famous french woman whose name i can't remember. it was a name that looks normal in english but isn't pronounced like it looks. like francoise hardy but it wasn't her. anyway i was shocked and kept telling people of my dad's amazing skills.

I dreamt I was in an unfamiliar kitchen, cooking a pot of curry for a Christmas party. A few guests were milling about the room, including my sister, my grandfather, and A PONY -- brown, about shoulder height, just kinda standing in front of a cabinet grooming himself. At some point I left the curry to simmer, and I decided to head upstairs for a moment of rest. I took a few steps, and suddenly the pony lunged at me and managed to pin me beneath his two left legs. From a hunched-over standing position, I tried to wrench myself free, but the pony growled like a grumpy cat and wouldn't budge an inch. I called for help, but apparently all the guests had gone upstairs. As I struggled more, the pony started to literally unravel. What I thought was skin and fur and muscle was really just brown rope cleverly wound into the shape of a pony. The more I tugged at it, the more it unraveled, revealing a simple frame of dowels at its core. At last I was free, but the pony wasn't done with me yet. He started chasing me around the kitchen, and he didn't seem bothered by the long coils of rope that trailed behind him as he ran. Seconds later I made it to the kitchen door, and I hurried upstairs to tell my story to a roomful of very amused guests.

In an earlier dream last night, Hillary Clinton hugged me.

last night i dreamt that i was applying to law school all over again, and i decided i'd apply to yale. my personal statement was about dinosaurs. instead of just rejecting me, the reader of the statement marked it up and sent it back to me. at the end of it, he/she wrote in red pencil, "i don't know why you would choose to write about dinosaurs. what a boring topic."

Pshhh, as if interning for Jim Sokolove is a more interesting achievement than riding around the world on the back of a pterodactyl.

My Hillary Clinton dream was law related, actually. Hil was the defendant in a civil case (something to do with logging??). When she won the case, she went around hugging every single person in the courtroom audience. By the time she got to me, it seemed like she was just going through the motions, and it wasn't a very warm or passionate hug :-(

i had a dream that a girl i went to college w/ who was also from vermont was driving up and i looked out the window and she had a pet pig (a really big one) who had an injured foot. it was wrapped. she was driving her saab but he was walking on a leash (don't know how this was possible). i really don't like her. what does this mean?

in the past few months, i've been entertaining the idea of having a pet pig. but then i think they would be expensive to feed. i wonder what i would call it.

i would really really like to have a pet pig. they are one of my favorite animals. i like living in cities and wouldn't not live in one but i'm way interested in farm animals. like maybe i could get some hens someday.

I had this dream where for some reason I got into trouble with the police. After a long chase involving the subway system of a fictitious city, they caught up with me at the flop house where I was renting a room. Actually I knew it was a dream while it was happening, because the police were so polite. Anyway, they decide to issue me with a tag, but instead of the standard ankle collar, it was a white T-shirt with a radio aerial sticking up out of the right shoulder. Also it had a picture of the Queen Mother on it, with "

The pig represents the primal, untamed aspects of the girl's personality. Does she indulge in her own base desires at the expense of other people's feelings? Does she get herself into messy, difficult situations out of habit, and does she tend to forget her manners? At any rate, you dislike her because of her "piglike" qualities.

The fact that the pig has an injured foot and a leash suggests that you'd like those qualities to be crippled, to be tethered -- to lose their power, basically. The girl isn't a total bithc, and something about her is worth saving as long as she can reign in her unpleasant tendencies from time to time. The bandage/wrapping shows that you don't mean the girl any ill will. You don't want her to suffer; you just want her to become a bit more likeable so that you can return her goodwill. Of course, you can't expect her to become a perfect person overnight. In some ways the pig will always walk alongside the Saab, so to speak, and you might have to accept that. The girl may actually represent yourself or someone close to you, but that's for you to decide.

no, that's not her. the pig was also much bigger, and had blackish hair. maybe it was a boar?

last week i dreamt i was visiting a friend and we walked into this "upscale" "gated community" (i don't think he lived there, we just went there and weren't allowed to be there) and it was infested with huge mutant hamsters, they were bigger than rats. so many rodent dreams!

are you sure they were not guinea pigs, in keeping with our theme for the day?

i think it means that ppl who are so elitist and guarded w/ their precious crap are really monstrous and awful.

i dreamed that i was talking on the phone with a boy (romantingly) and then there was smoke coming from under my bed, i had to hang up to attend to the smoke. i saw there was a shirt under there that was on fire! it took me a bunch of tries to put out the little flame.

i had another dream that i was hiking in a volcanic crater (one to which i have been before) but it only looked like the right place when i looked in a certain direction. everywhere else it looked like the desert, with lots of sand dunes that was someone was daring me to race down. then there was lots of running and people putting me in a car on some kind of thermal (cool) padding and saying something about bees. apparently we'd been attacked and i'd been stung a million times but i didn't know that, and i couldn't feel it. i ended up somehow back home or in a hospital and people kept coming to check on me but i didn't really have a clue what was going on/had happened.

what do my dreams mean?
