the new york times had a "36 hours in knoxville" feature story a week ago or so. i think it was pretty accurate but was written from a very narrow perspective, i.e. it didn't give any sense of what it's like to be poor there, or old there, or real young, or black, or -- largest-growing demographic in e. tennessee -- hispanic.

It's been there a long time. It's a fratty/sorority kinda bar on the same corner as the Pilot Light...that actual corner is taken up by Hanna's "patio", which is walled in concrete. Maybe you remember it now?
