Sleeve, I haven't heard that Fall song but I gave it a point or 2 on account of having seen descriptions of it. If I'd known, I'd have given it a few more.

I think the point is when it applies to albums that are well more than the sum of their parts.

thanks everyone, and thanks for participating too, since i started doing this the number of ballots and votes has gone up considerably. like i said when i first started something with 2 votes made the top 50 so this is a lot better. and thanks to whoever set up ILX so youtube videos could embed, saves me the effort of finding a single cover and makes the poll a bit more interactive.

Ahmed Fathi is a singer and oudist from Yemen (I think it's Yemen) and I voted for him because Sundar nominated him and I figured, okay, what the heck, lets vote for Ahmed Fathi then. But the track in question is just part of this wonderful collection that resulted from an oud festival:

yeah i like the frankie knuckles mix better, but the song just never puts it over for me. i don't dislike it or anything, it makes sense as an ilm consensus #1. just, for me, lacks a wow factor.

This list is shockingly terrible.. Each year the ILM singles poll usually includes at least a few hidden gems I had missed out on, which I was kind of counting on.. but this poll proves it. there were no hidden gems. 2008 = worst year for singles that has ever existed. not joking. The majority of these choices will be forgotten in less than 2 years. "Miss Independent" is like fifty times better than "Closer." Will rock ever recover?
