Absolutely dire. I never saw the movie but I used to love "Jackass"!

You know when the Mayor of Morecambe said he wanted his town to be the British Las Vegas?

sorry didn't mean to be mean - it's just that that movie is exuberant joy personified in all its fucked up, brilliant vicissitudes.

re: Bam tears - he fears teh snakes and was locked in a pen with a King Cobra. Dastardly. Most of the special I watched last night was the guys complaining about how evil and cruel their director(jeff tremaine) is. Apparantly with the fame all they are left with is pain-inducing stunts on each other and dressing up as old folx.

“Jackass Number Two” is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). Things you can’t even imagine.

Just about the only thing that could make this movie any gayer would be cameos from John Waters and Rip Taylor and a closing Busby Berkley-style musical production number. Oh wait, it's got those too.

When Waters gazes over the American landscape and sees what his revolution in bad taste has wrought—vast armies of suburban teens lining up to see grown men drink horse sperm, do sadistic things with dildos, and vomit profusely—he must feel awfully proud.

Homoeroticism does have a long history in suburban skateboarder culture(where all these guys come from). hell, my best friend from high school would talk about the weird shit at skateboard camp.

1. Not enough Johnny Knoxville. Bam and Steve-O get more screentime, and the other players get even more than them. I don't mind Steve-O and a couple of the bit-players, but Bam is a bitch for the most part.

2. The Spike Jonze bits suck.

3. Much more mean-spirited and sadistic than the first movie or the TV show. The first one was defensible as physical comedy, pure and simple - I could recommend it to my parents and they loved the movie. This one, not so much, it's got a much harder edge, more gross-outs, and you have to get off (to some degree) on watching people be miserable.

4. Bodily fluids AHOY

and there seemed to be a normal amount of johnny knoxville, unless you are in love with him or something.

and i didn't think it was mean-spirited at all. i mean comparatively.

i think this tops the list of movies i would never want to see while eating...

Actually, I'm not sure I really believe this but I kinda do like saying it for the buzzkill.

One key difference between what happens in Jackass and things like cutting is that people who self-mutilate tend to do it in private.

OK, the thing about gay men approving of Jackass is also something of a broad generalization but it's one played out in my small cirlce of friends and...other places.

I am so excited for this movie. Hope Wee Man gets a decent amount of screen time. I rewatched two of these recently and honestly I think my favourite scene was him not getting that the chair was electric and that he was convinced they had a secret card throwing machine.

i rewatched 1 the other day and laughed hardest when rip taylor randomly showed up, i had totally forgotten about that.

i love how knoxville (i assume stuff like that is all knoxville) is so into & amused by old time classic hollywood/showbiz stuff like that

JK is clearly a buster keaton devotee, one of the reasons I love his bits so much is how cinematic his version of jackassian showmanship tends to be

also helps that he’s a diehard Evel Knievel fan too
