[spoilers] I voted for ADC and not kaleidoscope because 1. 2:19 adorn 2. ...ALL 3. you can kill me if 'kaleidoscope' misses the #1 by 49 points or less
― 乒乓, Friday, 25 January 2013 16:20 (eleven years ago) link
"...all" is on kaleidoscope dream. deluxe edition bonus track or something. so is "gravity"
― lex pretend, Friday, 25 January 2013 16:23 (eleven years ago) link
yeah I know but it feels out of place after 'candles in the sun'
― 乒乓, Friday, 25 January 2013 16:27 (eleven years ago) link
I'm being petty mad at miggy for not sequencing it right.
and if you rep for the deluxe edition that means you're also gonna have to rep for the adorn remix w/ wiz khalifa
imo "All" is a much better ending to the album than nu-"Candles". in my mind the album has 13 tracks.
i have the Target edition of the CD, which has "Gravity" and "All" but not the Wiz remix :)

Channel Orange crossed over much more than Kaleidoscope Dream, I'd think. I can imagine a lot of people who haven't heard KD (or any other r'n'b this year) putting CO in the lower half of their ballots.

who are the main contenders? ocean, yeah, but that's mostly the same voting bloc and miguel seems way more popular on ilm
Kendrick might beat both of them.
― Matt DC, Friday, 25 January 2013 16:40 (eleven years ago) link
i could see Kendrick beating Frank Ocean. but def not Miguel.

Frank has a 0% chance of beating Miguel in albums
Kendrick is Miguel's main competition, Dawn is a dark horse contender. Other albums towards the top include Taylor, Swans, and Jessie
― O'Floyd rules! (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 25 January 2013 18:18 (eleven years ago) link
ha overestimating swans is really your thing huh

Haha maybe
― O'Floyd rules! (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 25 January 2013 18:26 (eleven years ago) link
I've just held the assumption that Miguel is more popular around these parts than Frank (who seems a lot more divisive here and has just never gotten quite a few people on board) for a while
― The Reverend, Friday, 25 January 2013 18:39 (eleven years ago) link
not saying Miguel will necessarily beat Frank but it feels like there's a lot more enthusiasm for KD on ILM than CO. I could see it going either way.
― The Reverend, Friday, 25 January 2013 18:41 (eleven years ago) link
a lot of 'visible enthusiasm' on ILM has more to do with who chooses to post at length about what than what they're listening to. there are plenty of indie bands that don't attract active threads during the year and then dominate ILM's year-end threads.

Idk mane songs @ 40, 17, & 3 imply a heavier voter bias than 23 & 20 do

i feel pretty confident that kendrick will beat both by a lot but frank and miggy will probably be close. gut feeling tells me frank beats him out though. way more mainstream exposure

i can't see that miggy clip on my phone, what traxx did he choose?

Whens the last time three songs from an album placed in the tracks poll and how did it do on the albums poll?
― O'Floyd rules! (Drugs A. Money), Saturday, 26 January 2013 05:52 (eleven years ago) link
Eh, it's not that unusual. Remember that not just Miguel, but Jessie Ware and Nicki Minaj placed three tracks each in this year's poll. Last year Beyonce did and the year before that TayTay had three and Kanye had four.
