it's funny, just when it feels like people FINALLY stopped begging dude for an album for a few months.

this will prob sound like everything else Justin and Tim have done together over the past 10 years, 90% chance people will still like that and 50% change it will actually be good

looking forward to this, change is overrated

Also, a youtube video today which says basically nothing. The countdown clock expires on Monday, though, which is the day that was originally the central piece of the rumor. New track then, hopefully.

True, but Rev is right that it kills momentum. I'd go one step further and say that Jay's part retroactively kills momentum (that didn't even begin until the intro was over). Structurally, it's a mess.

yeah it could easily be the weakest track on a good album. wouldn't be the first time that was true of a big event lead single.

Strange intro. Chintzy's a good word for the main section of the track, although that glissando is nice. I don't think it's Jay that's killing the momentum. It's the change-up in the tempo and in the production. But I do like how it picks back up at the end. Interesting to hear whether the rest of the production on this album follows similar form.

Werkin' Girls does it too, with better results. Trend probably comes from those who started slowing down their tracks to ~75bpm for the obligatory dubstep section.

i've played this about seven times and yes i think i am kind of liking it

and yes that intro is ungainly and jay-z is unsurprisingly lacklustre but those harps! the corny horns! JT you can show me a few things.

The intro had me fearing the worst, but the song isn't bad, really. It's not that good, either, but it improves in the slow section after Jay's interminable guest verse - and for some reason the main groove sounds better when it comes back around in the mostly wordless coda. No way the album's gonna be as epochal as the last one was unless Tim has some genius new co-producer nobody's heard waiting in the wings. Still looking forward to it, cautiously.

JT and Timbo go Las Vegas. I kinda like it though, Jiggaboo and all.

This time 'round I wouldn't mind if it went #1. He's soppier than he pretends and is decent at it.

The recent albums gave off such a bad whiff of stink that despite loving his first two records I've listened to 20/20 all the way through maybe once and the second one never. And it really irks me that the only two JT songs I hear on the radio with any regularity is "What Goes Around ..." and "Mirror." It's almost as if they're afraid to play "Cry Me A River" or "Like I Love You" for fear that people would rather hear them.

"TKO" is without a doubt his worst ever single right? i mean, even worse than the one that literally got turned into a mcdonalds jingle

"I'm Lovin' It" was great idc idc

"Mirrors" might not be his worst single, but it's his worst HIT single, at any rate.

Not A Bad Thing sounds like the second single (after a Max Martin jam) on an *NSYNC reunion album named All Grown Up. So yeah it's the best single he's had in a while.

yeah it really is the mildest thing he's made since N Sync, isn't it. it came as a relief after "TKO," but the more i hear it, the less i like it. the staged viral campaign w/ the couple getting engaged while the song is playing is so so lame, too.

don't know how I feel about the chorus' false humility either; coming from a dude with Justin's wealth he sings it like a threat.

between this and jessica biel producing a TV pilot about a bachelor living the high life in NYC who has a sudden change of heart after babysitting his nephew. He hires an aspiring actress to play his wife, and things get complicated when he finds himself falling for her those two are painting a pretty horrifying picture.

"Brand New" off the Pharrell album is so easily my favorite thing he's done in a while, really reaffirms that i much prefer P to Timbaland as a creative foil for Justin.

idk feel like "Brand New" never takes off as much as it should and Justified doesn't really hold up outside of the singles mostly

Still like part 1 even though its flaws became more apparent over time. part 2 has some good stuff amidst some bad ideas but can't say I come back to it much. this single's pretty eh imo but I'll take it over "Mirrors"

the lazy rhyming doesn't really bother me, since the rhyme is such an unimportant part of the hook -- it's all about the groove. it doesn't really get in the way
