"I just paid £95,000 for a 2 bedroom buy to let in Croydon! WICKED!! I'm in the $$$$s now!"

fwiw: with one exception, all the ilx0rspeople I've added as FB friends are ppl i know in real life. does this make me rude and standoffish? it's not meant to.

I would be exactly the same! I don't need to keep up with strangers and their doings...

kv_nol, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 09:27 (sixteen years ago) link

i don't need a public internet site to keep up with people i properly know though...

i don't need a public internet site to keep up with people i properly know though...

ach, i don't *need* one. but it's kinda fun. also: experiments with private internet sites (no, rly) haven't been resoundingly successful.

i'm not saying facebook is revolutionary -- it's palpably not. i think its current popularity will wane quickly. but fuck it. it's put me in touch with a couple of old friends, and it suits my purposes well.

i'd probably be fine with it but it sort of makes complicated situations public and more complicated....

"Facebook users who like to control who gets to see your account details, take note: political views, religious back ground and other sensitive details may be wide open to prying eyes even though you've configured your profile so its viewable only to designated friends.

That's because the user setting that allows only designated friends to view a user's profile has no effect on whether the contents of that profile can be searched by the Facebook community at large. Users who want to block their profiles from being searched must go through an additional step."

I keep meaning to join it, but I don't want people I know to think I love music :/

I may have already exaggerated my love of Ivan Campo in that regard

i'm halfway to quitting it because this just leads to headaches and/or aforementioned randoms. i'm being a bit prissy about it i guess.

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:15 (sixteen years ago) link

I've started getting former school mates bringing the "AIN'T SIN YOU FOR AGES" to what was previously a contended quip-trading circle-jerk between a bunch of people I already spend a lot of time with. It's all turning from gold into shit.

Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:18 (sixteen years ago) link

contented, I mean

Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:19 (sixteen years ago) link

it's only as complicated as you want to make it.

blueski, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:19 (sixteen years ago) link

Maybe I don't really know what I want, Steve

Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 12:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Somebody start an ILx group. I feel like a liar in the ILM one.

Ms Misery, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Ok, should do that. I don't listen to enough musickness these days.

nathalie, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:35 (sixteen years ago) link

ILE on FB.

nathalie, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:38 (sixteen years ago) link

nope

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:41 (sixteen years ago) link

he's right.

Mark G, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah I would do it but I really have no clue how. I can barely join groups.

Ms Misery, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:42 (sixteen years ago) link

:-( I made it a closed group. So if you change your mind, I will reject you anyway. Actually if you (no matter who) prefers it is an open group, I'll switch.

nathalie, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:43 (sixteen years ago) link

waht

I couldn't find it. . .

Ms Misery, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:46 (sixteen years ago) link

nathalie, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:46 (sixteen years ago) link

Urgh. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2382779449

Would that work?

nathalie, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:46 (sixteen years ago) link

anyone else with a myspace who has resisted facebook feel like they may have backed the wrong horse...

acrobat, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:48 (sixteen years ago) link

I have too much Facebook crossover with work to join an ILE group I think...
When worlds collide!

Archel, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:48 (sixteen years ago) link

they probably have a red face right now

696, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 13:48 (sixteen years ago) link

there seem to be some odd features on facebook which I can envisage as being ILE threads, like the foodfight option. AFAIK, there has never been an ILE thread called "this is the thread where we have a food fight" but it's being realised by ilxors on facebook as I type (and w/ pics of the food handily provided so you don't have to faff around searching for 'em on google images).

Hooray, have joined ILE!

Ms Misery, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:06 (sixteen years ago) link

I am a zombie! I have no minions as yet though.

I joined ILX group :)

Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:07 (sixteen years ago) link

I thought the Louis "Jigger" Jagger Appreciation Society was ILE's unofficial group

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:27 (sixteen years ago) link

I think it was but is now full of LJ's IRL friends or something.

Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:27 (sixteen years ago) link

haha

I thought it was other way round!

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:29 (sixteen years ago) link

I've just sent a request to join the ILE group!

C J, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:38 (sixteen years ago) link

One of us (collectively).

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 14:39 (sixteen years ago) link

Me too! I'm still not sure of the point of this, but CJ hit me with a haggis, which seems suitably bizarre enough to count as fun.

ailsa, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 15:48 (sixteen years ago) link

Ooh I have ILX friend now!
