Given how candid Pettibon has been about his brother's and family's awfulness over the years, this shouldn't really be a huge surprise.

Horrible

Really? Where'd you read that?

"My brother went paranoid. They turn against the people who love them the most first: parents, family, band members. He can't be on the same stage with anyone else. Or with anyone. He wasn't always like that, but it happens to a certain amount of people, whether it's genetics… or probably his huge consumption of weed and psychedelics had something to do with it. I haven't spoken to him since… probably 86." And yet, says Pettibon, "if he knocked on the door we'd go right back to the way it was before. I have no rancour for him, because he's living in his own reality and that can happen, potentially, to anyone and so it's really not his fault. But the lives it affects negatively and destroys are another thing. I just try to keep as far as possible I can away from him. I don't wish him any harm.

Pettibon's twitter-feed is a pretty horrid read generally

never sure if he's a paranoid dipsomaniac or if he's parodying same, and not intrigued enough to care.

i mean, from all i've heard Ginn is a terrible terrible man. don't wanna play the "Oh, I'm not surprised" canard, but he's treated so many other people so badly it's not a stretch to imagine him treating his kids so poorly.

The weird thing is, when I was researching my Black Flag book, nearly everyone who'd been in contact with them swore blind the Ginns senior were great, great parents, if also v unusual people.

Most people who side with Pettibon are usually unaware that he is an avid breeder of dogs for fighting/blood sport, which is pretty uh complicated for a guy who has always claimed his artwork was anti-violent.

The Alex Flynn ref in his recent tweets is his nephew (sister's son) who was in the band 1208, who was counterfeiting Raymond's zines and putting them on eBay to fund his alleged junk habit.

this was obviously a joke he made in an interview. always amazed at how ppl fell for it

haha, he needs a Snopes.

For example, six years ago, when Pettibon told The Believer that he raised pit bulls for dog-fights. Later, Jeff Penalty — documentary filmmaker and former replacement singer for The Dead Kennedys — spoke with Pettibon for Swindle Magazine, and the artist told him he raised the dogs so that at-risk youth could train them for fights, a form of charity. Pettibon was kidding. He said as much to Jeff Penalty, eventually.

I'm getting there. Side A is pretty strong, "I'm the One" has some of the primo-est of heavy Ginntar.

Amazing anecdote on the newest Henry & Heidi podcast about Hank being pressed into service by Sharon Osbourne at the famous Sabbath reunion gigs.

She asked him to help with an EPK and interview people backstage, so he goes over to interview Brian May and after they film the segment May says to him "by the way, I just want you to know, Freddie loved Black Flag"!!!!
