I know I just misspelled their names, but I'm too lazy to fix it.

Far stretches (maybe not)-

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio
Mary Steenburgen

Tom Selleck
Burt Reynolds
(in their heydays I had them confused as a kid)

Hugh Jackman is the poor man's version of Russell Crowe and Russell Crowe is the poor man's version of Mel Gibson.

I do know the difference between Chris Rock and Chris Tucker, though.

How many times to I have to remind people--it's Turd Ferguson, not Burt Reynolds...

BabyBuddha (BabyBuddha), Monday, 23 February 2004 19:37 (fifteen years ago) link

al pacino and sean penn

people have alerted me to the fact that one is about 40 years older than the other or something, but that doesn't invalidate that they both have really dark confusing hair.

I have this problem constantly! No matter how different the people, if the names are similar I'll confuse them:

Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary Louise Parker (ever since Fried Green Tomatoes)

Plus, I get ordinary words mixed up all the time. Yesterday: Calvary and Cavalry.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 18:37 (fifteen years ago) link

I do hope, for Jay's sake, that he's not too much like me. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

BabyBuddha (BabyBuddha), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 19:21 (fifteen years ago) link

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 29 March 2004 14:09 (fifteen years ago) link

Listening to a talk on Crime genre yesterday, I was startled to realise there was a Howard Hawks AND a Howard Hughes. Which cheered me up immensely, as now a great director isn't a famous nut.

Robomonkey (patronus), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 14:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Back when I was a kid: Carol Burnette and Shirley MacLaine. I think it had to do with the fact they both had short hair.

As recently as a year ago: Bruce Campbell and Bruce Dern. Because of names, I guess.
