Hmmm, I see the edirol ua-25 costs like $230, which sounds about right.
I'd pay up to $500 probably, if it was worth it.

The ua-25 only got "6.9 out of 10" on the user reviews at zzounds.com, which could mean nothing at all I s'pose..

edirol was definitely I company I had in mind for this kind of thing, but I've never owned one of their products

well, you can get a UA-101 for around $500. that's one powerful box, i've done some usb audio benchmarking, and the ua-101 is one of the best out there.

electric sound of jim,

so the edirol ua-25 definitely has a 2nd audio output for monitoring through an application (like traktor)? b/c I'm not seeing this in the pics...

Okay, actually I bought this today and I'm not seeing a true 2nd output? When configuring the soundcard in Traktor, It's only letting me choose a master out *or* a monitor out, not both.

Also, when playing *any* audio, even through a program like winamp, there are clicks & pops, and I went through the entire troubleshooting section without anything making a difference. Latency adjustments don't change the clicks or pops either. Again, this is happening even when playing 1 track in winamp with no other programs running, and my laptop has 1GB of RAM...

Any ideas???

welp, I returned that and got this:

no clicks or pops, and it's got 3 separate outputs..

eight years pass...

So I have some shifts playing records at a local bar now, and though I usually play records, I want to start using digital music, just so I have a bigger library of music to pull from, but I don't know where to begin.

Is there a very simple program that will let me fade between different songs on my laptop? I'm looking for something basic; I'm not really mixing or anything, I just need a way to seamlessly transition between songs, maybe queue up songs, that sort of thing. Any advice on where to begin?
