gluecifer are some of the rudest cunts I've met in my life )or was that the support band? can't remember anyway. there was a stench of horrible in the rooom at the gig I worked at. so the hellacopters win (till the 12th at least. then I'll get the dirt on whether they're cocks too.
turbo negro may be norwegian but they rock more than either.

The Hellacopters have written quite a few rock anthems but I'd count lots of Gluecifer songs as personal anthems ("Suck City", "Rockthrone", "Evil Matcher", "Chewin Fingers"...) so I guess Gluecifer wins. Both have done all sorts of terrible stuff too, but Gluecifer's bad stuff is at least funny. Who told Nick Royale he could sing?

So how about now, assuming anyone cares for either any more? (I'll vote for the Hellacopters but I like both -- currently listening to the Cream of the Crap, Vol. 2 comp with all sorts of singles and B-sides and covers and etc.)

Hellacopters were great live when I saw them last year. I like both bands. I have more Hellacopters records (three versus two), but after getting those three I realized that I probably don't need any more. Still, if it came down to Automatic Thrill against By the Grace of God, I don't think I could choose. I love both of those albums so very much.

What did you think of Rock 'n Roll Is Dead, Ned? I couldn't get into it at first, but it definitely grew on me. Not as good as By the Grace of God (those keyboards really filled out their sound), but fun nonetheless.

I've been slack with the more recent records! Need to catch up on them as I can here, but your comment about how all you need are a couple means I haven't looked much beyond the older ones I have already, honestly. Still, I figure I'll get Rock 'n Roll is Dead at some point.

Do you not have By the Grace of God?! You have to get that one, right now! It's their most 80s arena rock record, which works really well for them. "It's Good but It Just Ain't Right" is so good I can't even figure out how to describe it. Positively epic.

Gluecifer was pretty dissapointing. I had a hard time getting through the two CDs I heard and their songs never stuck with me at all. They have a bunch of energy and I bet they would be fun to get drunk in a club and see, but their records did not catch with me.

The Hellacopters on the other hand have some great songs and their later stuff is really good 70s style hard rock. I never did pickup Rock and Roll is Dead, but I think High Visibility and By the Grace of God are even better than the early more raw records. Their albums are not perfect, but there are a couple of great songs on each of their albums.

The Hellacopters is one newer band that I have been able to get some older guys whose rock tastes are 70s to the bone to really like.

Anyone got the CD/vinyl box thing? Can someone explain it to me? How is it possible to have a vinyl/CD combo?

ten years pass...

randomly I picked up the cd for a coin yesterday.
and damn, this is way beyond what I expected (i.e. more Hives stuff).
proper full on 80s rock excess with massive tunes.
best random for-a-coin cd I have got in ages.
