i thought it was african pirates taking over a polynesian or indonesian island for some reason? i dunno, i haven't gotten very far in the story + it doesn't matter.

r shift to breathe means dude is either is stretching his hand all the way across the keyboard to steady the shot OR dude has some crazy ass left-handed mouse setup. i'm a left-handed dude and even i think that shit is aberrant. is he buying special left handed mouses?

the open world thing where i walk and walk and walk and walk and i'm almost where i want to go and then i fall off a cliff and die and whoops i'm back where i started. drives me nuts. would be willing to forgive this game its narrative/cultural dumbassedness if it weren't for that shit.

yeah when i die i never know what's going to be saved. if i skin an animal, make something, and then die, it's usually gone. but then i did one of those 'wanted' missions and did a takedown on the target, promptly got shot in the head, and it counted as a successful mission.

wish there was a save-whenever-you-want system.

like honestly i have no idea why devs in 2012 would be doing that, esp with an open world game

oh wait, there is a 'save' option, but it's still weird. it doesn't save your position and let you load up from right where you left off, so does it just save your gear etc?

yeah it saves your stuff and stats but you "wake up" in one of the fast travel locations

h8 it when this 'open-world' game kicks you back to a loading screen when you kill a guy the 'wrong' way

when i was doing the medusa mission i started on a hang-glider going to the far side of the beach to approach from that way, and it said 'FAILED: YOU LEFT THE MISSION ZONE'. like, yo, i had a plan. too bad going between missions and wandering around isn't a little more seamless.

are the Crysis games worth playing? The whole series is available for less than twenty bucks american this weekend on steam and amazon

the first few hours of crysis 1 are awesome. super fun. then it gets kind of bad but you can just reload and fuck around in the first area some more.

heard crysis 2 is more of a zzzz corridor shooter. no firsthand experience tho.

in the jungle part of 1 you are basically the predator.

really pretty on pc. had some dumb fun with multiplayer but no confidence in its longevity

i never do multiplayer so that's no big deal. worrying reports of it being too easy though. not something that could be levelled at crysis 2

Though this seems more 90s than 80s. If it was a real 80s dumb game it would be two buff dudes shooting up South American jungles.

This is late 80s/early 90s VHS trash, the kind that the RedLetterMedia guys watch and mock every few weeks. The stuff that Carolco or Cannon put out and that MacGruber(the movie) openly mocked.

The reviews are coming in positive, with the point being made that the game undercuts itself and tries to have it both ways by alternately playing it straight and then commenting on its own idiocy.

the fact that you can throw ninja stars to take out other dudes when doing close-up melee kills shows how dead-on the game can be, tho. I want the soundtrack.

Yeah, I'm downloading the game from Amazon tonight. Weird that the serial number won't activate the game on Steam, and uPlay is a dumb enough service not to have that option either.

i liked it as an idea, but im not sure its going to hold together as a game. tbf, the demo is crazy short and basically cuts off in mid sentence. really funny though. shooting/aiming is pretty irritatingly unforgiving.
