Really interesting list thanks, glad to see some d&b here. Those tracks would have completely blown my mind 10 years ago, and it seems like d&b is finally doing now what we hoped it was capable of, back then, although it may be too late for anyone to notice now. No mention of Rockwell's Childhood Memories though? Like a couple of the songs you mention, it does almost seem to break the d&b mold.

The other big trend in d&b this year was veteran artists making the crossover to slower tempos and four to the floor beats. Attempts like Photek's tend to leave me with the feeling that d&b artists tend to burn out young and should probably retire at 25 in general, but then again Boddika and Trevino have managed to impress me, and now I even hear Doc Scott mention that he's been working on some house tracks.

Was this also the year juke was supposed to blow up, or was that last year?

I'm surprised not to see any love for Monolake - Ghosts, it's a good'un. Definitely a winner for the folks on the board mourning the loss of sound design.

not heard his recent stuff but Photek's always done slow stuff well and his house track with Robert Owens from like 12 years ago is a total jam

I don't think I heard any commercial mixes at all this year, it was more like see a link to something on twitter, listen to it on soundcloud, like it, forget to ever go back to it when I see another link on twitter to something different the next day

that fred judd electonics without tears reissue is really great if you're interested in history or whatever, it's got like one really good song song on it imo but all the tracks where he's just talking about sound manipulation or w/e are so great
