And I have to say I really like "Je Ne Sais Porquoui" a lot. Normally, I would prefer noughties Kylie any day, but that song is great.

I don't think I really like any of these songs. Maybe 'The Harder I Try' or 'I Want You Back'?
― Frank Sumatra (NickB), Friday, 30 January 2009 10:16 (fifteen years ago) link
It's not a great list. I went for "I Want You Back", but 1988 was where SAW felt like The Enemy. They had some better material to come, of course...

MAYBE (WE SHOULD CALL IT A DAY)--Hazell Dean
Hidden message from producers to singer?
― Mark G, Friday, 6 February 2009 07:54 (fifteen years ago) link
Hard to say. They inadvertently torpedoed Hazell's career by issuing her version of "Turn It Into Love" as a single; cue torrents of "yr stealing Kylie's song you old so-and-so" hate mail and no further major hits.

Ah, I'll never forget Auntie Hazell taking to the stage at the big Manchester "Stop Clause 28" rally in 1988.
"Thank you very much for supporting this act! This is my new single!" (cue strains of "Who's Leaving Who")
Ah, bless.

Christ, the video to 'S.S. Paparazzi' is fucking cringeworthy.
