Last post was her last post on the ILX Heaven thread.

So I was going to meet a friend of mine in the middle of the night last night and because I was sort of sleepy, I automatically got on the wrong freeway (the 101, when I needed the 405) and had to run around and correct myself (because I'm dumb) and la la, long story short, some punkass motherfucker ON HIS GODDAMNED CELL PHONE cut me off at the very last second at the interchange and in my swerve to avoid hitting him, my car spun out and hit the divider between the two and MY CAR IS TRASHED. (Emotional? Me? Nah.) It's old anyway (a '66 Mustang) and I just don't have the money to repair this bitch (though I'm not sure if it can be, or how much it might cost) and so today I'm sad. (Physically I'm ok, though my little heart is broken.)p
(Incidentally, my car had a flat when I went out to get in it before I left, which my favorite neighbor changed for me in record time - really, it was amazing how fast he swapped that bitch - so perhaps that should have been a sign.)

That one isn't mine - mine isn't quite that pretty anymore (it was before the first accident I had with it and I hadn't gotten all the bodywork done yet) but thanks - me too.
The mechanic called me and said it's not as bad as I think it is, but won't say yet how much he thinks it will cost.

In hindsight, Meade should have pursued and taken him out, no question. I've read much on Gettysburg, and from what I understand Lee's army was blasted to pieces and in full retreat. Cornelius, you make a very good point with the numbers issue, but numbers do not tell the whole story, and I think Lee's 47,000 men were worth a bit less than that at the time. They were ragged, disorganized, and retreating, while Meade's men were in their own country, mostly consolidated, and fresh off a victory they knew they had decisively won. It is my opinion, writing in 2006, that Lee would have been seriously pressed and would have likely lost many men in a rout. I will not go so far as to write off his entire army, but Meade could have done severe damage to what was left.
