Tamara was a piece of work but she was kind of palatable appearance-wise in an LA kind of way. Supposedly dropped in what, '08 or something? Got married? If you hadn't brought her up, she wouldn't have ever crossed my mind again.

They hooked up at somepoint after dinner at his parents' house in LA, he proposed to her (since she wasn't married or anything) and she demurred. That's the thing she'll always have to live with - she could have had a genuinely horrendous childhood that has left her mind fucked up and deserving of sympathy... But who is going to believe that?

Thing is, Aimee was quite sweet on the phone, kinda flirty, kinda goofy, a little overly hostile to those she felt had wronged her but she used to adore her son and her dogs. I think she may be as much a victim of herself as much as anybody. The stories she told about her stepfather and her mother seem to be standard issue, fwiw.

True. But he met other family members who could've corroborated her stories or exposed the bullshit. I guess I believe that history because there must be a reason for someone turning into this sort of adult, y'know?

Husband said Tamara was good influence on Aimee but got married and had twins (I think...or just 2 non-twin kids) and they drifted apart.

yeah i'm not keen on ''i was abused' as an explanation for being a hostile predator, especially since the explanation usually appears immediately after a confrontation. a lot of people have been abused and most of them don't spend their lives coldly exploiting the good faith of others, in fact many of them go to lengths to not inflict upon others what they've suffered themselves. the swift villain to victim transition seems pretty popular among the personality disordered.

Back in the day she would have remembered as much of the cockamamie nonsense I chattered on about. It's really little different than remembering various episodes from the lives of ILX.

Son is a sophomore according to one of the last e-mails I got from her.

So I was going to meet a friend of mine in the middle of the night last night and because I was sort of sleepy, I automatically got on the wrong freeway (the 101, when I needed the 405) and had to run around and correct myself (because I'm dumb) and la la, long story short, some punkass motherfucker ON HIS GODDAMNED CELL PHONE cut me off at the very last second at the interchange and in my swerve to avoid hitting him, my car spun out and hit the divider between the two and MY CAR IS TRASHED. (Emotional? Me? Nah.) It's old anyway (a '66 Mustang) and I just don't have the money to repair this bitch (though I'm not sure if it can be, or how much it might cost) and so today I'm sad. (Physically I'm ok, though my little heart is broken.)p
(Incidentally, my car had a flat when I went out to get in it before I left, which my favorite neighbor changed for me in record time - really, it was amazing how fast he swapped that bitch - so perhaps that should have been a sign.)
