Just worried that somewhere there is a person who knows she lied about her life, marriage status, gave her money, and would still want to meet up and get involved romantically

her 50k benefactor knew that she had lied about her appearance.

Her work e-mail involved her married name. I'm inclined to think that Ms Albert is her viking name. Omar or whomever posted a listing from September looking for a paralegal job where she's using her married name. This would fit in with the whole "I'm not married but my ex-husband lives with me shtick" yet my legal name is still his...or she never bothered to change her name for the sake of her boy. It sounds like she'll have a legal choice to change her name soon, though.

I don't think anybody really fell for the photos except maybe at the very beginning. She mentioned to me that she had weight/body issues, especially after she busted her knee skiing in (whatever year that was)

I think the internet as a whole was an escape, a venue to have a fantasy life/self, for her but also just a way to pass the time (at work mainly). ILX served both needs.

Based on what just the two of us know, GD, she flirted all over the place, but, yeah, what you said. If she were busy at work, you'd hear nary a word. If she weren't, she'd be on ILX and having an e-mail exchange with me and then mention one she was having with x and with y. She spent something like 20 years at that job and I think it left her a little stir crazy.

Also, fwiw, GD and I had a little e-mail exchange yesterday but he's mentioned several aspects of her story that jibe with the one I got so if she's a total mythomaniac, she's at least a consistent one. Occam's razor says she's embellishing a bit (a lot?) 'round the edges but I assume the fundamentals are still true.

Tamara, M? I haven't seen the photo she showed me of Tamara in years, and that's def not the same one (it was a stuidio portrait), but girl on the right looks like "Tamara". Husband confirmed ther was a Tamara fwiw.

When she showed me the pic of "Tamara" I had a gut feeling that it was actually Aimee and she was showing it to me as a way to gauge my reaction to her real looks w/o having to out herself.

M, did she talk to you about Joe? Some guy who was her soul mate but she just wanted to be friends but it was super complicated and he asked her to marry him but then couple weeks later he died in a car crash. I smelled fishiness when she never mentioned him again after like a couple days after his "death". Husband knew of no Joe, no friend who died in a crash.

I just didn't know if people here were saying that it was definitively her -- seems highly unlikely just from a general vibe I get from that photo. The picture doesn't look partic outdated, but the person on the right looks pretty young to have been working somewhere for 20 years?

She started there when she was just out of high school iirc. That pic could be, what, 7-8 yrs old ish? Which would make her mid 30s in it.

That person could absolutely be 39/40 imo. Looks not unlike people I know that are 40.

Tamara was a piece of work but she was kind of palatable appearance-wise in an LA kind of way. Supposedly dropped in what, '08 or something? Got married? If you hadn't brought her up, she wouldn't have ever crossed my mind again.

I remember the Joe story - lived near Concord, CA, old flame. They hooked up at somepoint after dinner at his parents' house in LA, he proposed to her (since she wasn't married or anything) and she demurred. He was mad about it and drove off and got himself killed in car crash or something. Summer of '07?

That's the thing she'll always have to live with - she could have had a genuinely horrendous childhood that has left her mind fucked up and deserving of sympathy... But who is going to believe that?

I think perhaps Joe was real and this was how she 'killed' him.

Thing is, Aimee was quite sweet on the phone, kinda flirty, kinda goofy, a little overly hostile to those she felt had wronged her but she used to adore her son and her dogs. I think she may be as much a victim of herself as much as anybody. The stories she told about her stepfather and her mother seem to be standard issue, fwiw.
