husband said he got access to 2 of her email accounts; I only knew of 1. He grilled her last night and she admitted to a lot of shit. I hope he holds to what he told me and leaves ASAP. Said all he cares about now is their son, and man, I hope he's not too scarred/damaged at this point.

I've met maybe 9 or 10 ILXors in real life, maybe not so many, but with whatever authority that endows me, I can say that sanity/non-sanity is a grey area with many boarders here, incl. myself.

I take it personally when people bring up this perennial "WCC is crazy" argument b/c, like, I'm crazy, so are ____ and ____, and ____ stayed at my house and was definitely crazy but he's a great writer and I like him a lot, and I've even observed _____ in sociopathic behaviour but s/he hasn't done anything actually dangerous so who gives a shit.

Considering that the beefs of this recent week have been the result of, basically, not much more than username doxxing and Twitter posting in anger, I think that a lot of the reactions have been leaning more toward crazy-shaming than actual productive response.

Yeah. I'm certifiably crazy too (*waves*), and I do take offence when people are all "if you're nuts then just fuck off", especially when it comes from ilxors who I perceive to be otherwise very friendly towards me.

ok, last post:

there are three types of "crazy" that I see invoked in life:
1. "Oh, he's so CRAZY" meaning someone knows how to get down and party and is a character
2. Mentally ill (crazy used derogatorily)
3. Mentally ill and enables the illness by getting into certain social situations

I'm not so much for #1, can handle those people in limited doses because I'm not huge on "fun." #2 is never really OK. #3 is... yeah, go get right with yourself, you're making yourself ill.

insidious part of the luna thing was that there was no on-board drama that I really knew of, just using the board to fuel off-board badness

Obviously I understand the 'truly damaging' part, but what kind of social conscience doesn't want to protect the insane? I mean, what? Are we to be driven from our homes with flaming torches instead?

xposts to mh, yeah, that is actually a sensible iteration of it. Though of course in communities like this there is a certain amount of attraction/repulsion - sometimes coming to "your" online community can be helpful rather than harmful, other times... uh, no.

ive been wondering recently what ilx could do to better help people who are going through difficult times, particularly those who seem like they might be a danger to themselves, like if some sort of official policy and/or relationship w/professional help would be a good idea

cause all the suicidal and quasi suicidal talk that goes on around here worries me, tho maybe people feel like having this outlet where they wont be instantly shunted into treatment or diagnosed or w/e is helpful, idk

It's worrying but I think it can and has also been used in a really manipulative and destructive way on board which has gone unpunished which isn't really helpful either imo.

I'm notably bitter on the "stop talking about how you're going to do it" point, but that's mostly because:
a. we're not professionals
b. I was repeatedly assured that drunken "oh, I'm going to kill myself" threats were just dumb threats until I walked into my living room to see someone downing a bottle of pills years ago

I am quite certain that I am now going to be called "crazy" and have all kinds of aspersions cast on my mental health for asking what should just be common consideration, but:

I find these kinds of clusterfucks and personal pile-ons incredibly triggering (of anxiety, of depression, of paranoia) and really rather damaging. It's odd to me, that people complain about my "crazyness" and then dive straight into exactly the behaviour I have asked them not to do, because it makes things worse, not better.

I am asking, as nicely as I can: can we please, for once, just not do this.

If you don't like me, can you please just leave me alone. These days, when I don't like someone, I try to avoid them. I certainly don't go following their twitter and looking through it, searching for things to ~get offended at~ and drag back to ILX in order to trigger another clusterfuck of pearl-clutching outrage.
