The video archive on the MLB website has a lot of historical clips, mostly posted in the last year or so. It's about time. Their search engine is crap though, if you want to find something do a google video search instead.

Canadian Pathe newsreel of 1919 Series
From Jacob Pomrenke, Chair of SABR's Black Sox Scandal Research Committee: "A quick 3-second clip beginning at the 3:06 mark of the video online appears to be one of the most disputed plays of the World Series, one of the plays famously circled by sports writer Hugh Fullerton on his scorecard in the press box: the botched double play ball hit by the Reds' Larry Kopf and fielded by White Sox pitcher Eddie Cicotte in the fourth inning."

Bill (Decasia) Morrison has found a bunch of old film, including newsreels of the 1917 World Series between the White Sox and Giants, that had been "buried in a local pool in 1929 as part of the landfill for a hockey rink" in the Canadian Yukon (clip within).

Walter Johnson's birthday today. My class got a kick out of Ruth's antics in this clip. (At least I think they're antics...he'd been retired for nearly a decade at that point, so maybe not.)
