yeah but people always say "autumnal" as if they're ever so clever for saying this ever so clever fancy word that no one else knows, even though it's just "autumn" with "al and you pronounce the "n".

xp ha yeah I see what you're getting at now - check out my arcane knowledge that weather is DIFFERENT AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR, and we have these things called SEASONS and, lastly some of those SEASONS even have adjective forms! yeah grr.

hold on, I think I half-pronounce the n in "autumn". Never noticed that before.

It's almost always used like this:

"Brrr, it's getting colder out"
"Hmmm, yes it is feeling rather 'autUMnal'"

It's just a boring word and people keep using it all the time as if they're the first to use this ever so big word....
