dude, Amateurist, I was listening to his NEW one TONIGHT on my ride home from work. i don't like "a" Plant solo album, I pretty much like them all! A lot of his solo stuff is really good -- mainly the first two with that great band featuring Robbie Blunt on guitar, and the last two with this new group. Sure, a lot of it has the whiff of old-guy-trying-hard, but it's overall good stuff. I even think you'd like
Dreamland, you should check it out. But we can't agree on everything, my friend.
When I saw him a couple weeks back, he talked about how thrilled he was that he got to steal away to the Old Town School of Folk Music fest and he got to meet Otis Clay.

"In The Cage" from "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". The way he picks it up after the first chorus = awesome. Most of his drumming on the older Genesis rekkids is outstanding. It's only after "and then there were three" that he started getting into this whole john bonham thing which was kind of lame. Also, Mike Rutherford never gets any props but he was the BEST BASSIST EVER.

Peter Gabriel 3 (the one with the melting face cover) - no cymbals! Anywhere on the album! Although Biko is horrible.
Also, IT from The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, my vote for the best Phil performance.
I knew this mad Swiss woman who was stalking him, she changed her name to Ph!lduke (g00gle-proofed cos we DON'T want her finding this thread believe me) and slept in his shed one night before he found her in the morning and rightfully ejected her from his property.
