Jimi Hendrix die de blues speelt, mooi is dat toch. Zappa kon er ook wel wat van, vooral als Don 'Sugarcane' Harris meedeed (die zelf ook een mooie live-plaat heeft gemaakt, getiteld 'Sugarcane's got the Blues').
Ik moet me nog verdiepen in t ouwe spul van BB King, net als Albert Collins, Freddie King, Wes Montgomery en Johny 'Guitar' Watson.

Een andere vraag: alhoewel blues mij absoluut niets doet, ben ik dol op (jaren '60 en '70-)soul. Wat zijn nu de elementen die weg zijn gehaald of zijn toegevoegd die van soul soul maken, in plaats van blues?Soul is veel meer sophisticated. De verwarring ligt volgens mij ook een beetje bij het feit dat blues voor veel mensen ruige Chicago blues is, waarbij ze dan de rustige varianten uit het zuiden vergeten.

@ Eric: Wes Montgomery speelde geen blues, maar No Blues van de cd Smokin' at the half note (van Wynton Kelly met Wes) is wel een geweldig staaltje jazz-over-eenblues schema. (jajaja eigenlijk van Miles)
