N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:51 (twenty years ago) link

Ab1g4il W1ld. she had a very nice voice.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:53 (twenty years ago) link

do you know her?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:54 (twenty years ago) link

Well, I know who she is. I like her writing.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:54 (twenty years ago) link

I was talking to Spiers again early, and I sent your love.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:55 (twenty years ago) link

I hope she says nice things about me.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:56 (twenty years ago) link

I hope everyone says nice things about me.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:56 (twenty years ago) link

I once saw Graham Spiers staggering drunkenly down Byres Road, having just left Cookie to go for a taxi. It was a beautiful sight and I wish he could have seen it.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:57 (twenty years ago) link

There was a Cookie-Spiers summit?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 18:59 (twenty years ago) link

I had left Cook and I wished he could have seen it. I thought that may have implied he didn't.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:00 (twenty years ago) link

cook could beat up spiers.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:01 (twenty years ago) link

Certainly in the state spiers was in that night . . . (someone said somewhere else that was the right way to do ellipses? It looks silly)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:02 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, ignore them, they were talking shite.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:03 (twenty years ago) link

I believe amateurist.

. . .

it looks horrible though.

she said 'you don't have a glaswegian accent.' and I said 'yeah but I have a scottish accent.' and she said 'do you?!' now I'm saying 'what?!' she was very nice though, I think I was a little rude at one time but I didn't mean it. I normally feel uncomfortable on the phone.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:08 (twenty years ago) link

She was clearly hitting on you.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:09 (twenty years ago) link

I hate all of you.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:10 (twenty years ago) link

get some work done.

I saw paul ross, outside lauder's, today.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 20:16 (twenty years ago) link

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 23:13 (twenty years ago) link

I did a few times, & I will again

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 23:15 (twenty years ago) link

The teaser on the the front page reads 'BLOGGERS WILD: OBSESSIVE LOSERS OR INTERNET CHRONICLERS?'.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 08:34 (twenty years ago) link

haha! the first one!

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:37 (twenty years ago) link

the article is ok. apart from the bit where she says I'm a frustrated writer which is plainly untrue. other than that I'm just generally frustrated by the world, that is. not specifically as a writer.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:38 (twenty years ago) link

http://www.theherald.co.uk/features/10687.shtml

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:40 (twenty years ago) link

She is just trying to paint you as difficult and dark. It is part of her fantasy.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:41 (twenty years ago) link

"heydair!"

33! borderline autistic baby!

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:44 (twenty years ago) link

She writes well but seems a little callous. I covet her name, though!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:52 (twenty years ago) link

She is young and bitchy, which is kind of refreshing in the Herald.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 09:55 (twenty years ago) link

vanity.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:22 (twenty years ago) link

I meant, infamy.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:26 (twenty years ago) link

My central heating man hasn't come yet. He was meant to be here at 8.30am.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:44 (twenty years ago) link

Why can't my central heating man come

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:46 (twenty years ago) link

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:46 (twenty years ago) link

Do I want to click on those at work?

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:49 (twenty years ago) link

Fooled you! I am not at work!

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:50 (twenty years ago) link

cozen, where does the GH article say that you. specifically, are a frustrated writer?

I may be going to Glasgow on Monday as it happens!

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 11:52 (twenty years ago) link

'according to several online historians, DH, a frustrated writer, could have...' haha! yeah this article wd have been more interesting as 'what ppl take from blogs' not what 'blog writers are and do' which is kinda tired. I'm v. disappointed.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 12:05 (twenty years ago) link

if anything an 'idiot's point' of the blog wd be cease such frustration.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 12:06 (twenty years ago) link

This is the proper feature in the Herald about weblogs so I guess it's not tired for Herald readers (the first mention of the word in there came a year after I'd given mine up!)

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 12:12 (twenty years ago) link

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 March 2004 18:20 (twenty years ago) link

If anyone wants details of the funeral, shout at me

ailsa, Sunday, 28 May 2023 01:14 (ten months ago) link

Oh yeah, this FAP will be on Tuesday night.

ailsa, Sunday, 28 May 2023 01:45 (ten months ago) link

I can’t come up to Scotland this week any more and am really sorry to miss the funeral. I will raise a glass in Gerry’s honour, and put virtual arms around the shoulders of those of you who are going to be there x

Madchen, Sunday, 28 May 2023 07:26 (ten months ago) link

Hope to make it along to the Lodge to raise a glass in memory etc

Ward Fowler, Sunday, 28 May 2023 07:34 (ten months ago) link

I can't make tomorrow night, unfortunately, as we'll be over in Edinburgh. Sorry not to be able to join you.

brain (krakow), Monday, 29 May 2023 21:56 (ten months ago) link

hi folks I've just this minute finished working and am absolutely knackered, so won't make it along tonight now. Apologies, and hope you have a good time. Best wishes for tomorrow.

Ward Fowler, Tuesday, 30 May 2023 17:47 (ten months ago) link

It was great to see yez - If I'd had the foresight to book a hotel, I also wouldn't have run smack into kicking out time at Bruce Springsteen at Murrayfield.

Andrew Farrell, Tuesday, 30 May 2023 21:38 (ten months ago) link

Good to see folk. An excellently bizarre evening with the Alpen Lodge jukebox once more delivering the mood-appropriate goods.

ailsa, Tuesday, 30 May 2023 23:25 (ten months ago) link

thinking of you all today.

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 31 May 2023 08:16 (ten months ago) link

Yes, same here. A hard day for everyone. x

trishyb, Wednesday, 31 May 2023 11:38 (ten months ago) link

Anyone going to see Delgados at Kelvingrove bandstand in August?

― Covfefe and TV (ken c), Saturday, 6 May 2023 10:09 (one month ago) bookmarkflaglink

Me!

― ailsa, Saturday, 6 May 2023 13:19 (one month ago) bookmarkflaglink

I don't have a ticket but was thinking of it as I really enjoyed the Barrowlands gig.

― brain (krakow), Saturday, 6 May 2023 17:45 (one month ago) bookmarkflaglink

Krakow, I might have a spare ticket - will know nearer the time, but it's quite likely

― ailsa, Saturday, 6 May 2023 21:48 (one month ago) bookmarkflaglink

Thanks ailsa. Drop me a line if you do end up with a spare, in case we've not bought any in the meantime (my partner would probably come along too).

― brain (krakow), Thursday, 11 May 2023 09:40 (three weeks ago) bookmarkflaglink

Ailsa see you there!! We have now got ticket and (hopefully) accommodation for the weekend.
Karkow hope you can make it - there are still tickets if helpful (slightly surprised).

Covfefe and TV (ken c), Tuesday, 6 June 2023 17:36 (ten months ago) link
