Yeah, even though I still watch every week, this is becoming really old.

wheres your messiah now?

latebloomer: HE WHOM DUELS THE DRAFGON IN ENDLESS DANCE (latebloomer), Thursday, 17 February 2005 20:42 (nineteen years ago) link

I have all the post-Xmas episodes Tivoed but I can't get excited enough to watch them. The first part of the season was weird and more soapy than I like (it went from being self-knowing and funny about its 90210ness to just plain 90210). Too many characters with too little to do and too little personality.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:01 (nineteen years ago) link

dud.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:07 (nineteen years ago) link

tonight, the family might FALL APART!!

possible custody! sex scandals! streaked hair!

scout (scout), Thursday, 17 February 2005 23:36 (nineteen years ago) link

the oc is turning into a major dud. I enjoyed it last season but now it is just a mess. Like a girl on girl kiss is supposed to be SCANDALOUS? Plus, Marissa is obnoxious. All the storylines are completely boring and stupid. Watch Veronica Mars instead. It has class wars, teen drama AND crime solving.

gunther heartymeal, Thursday, 17 February 2005 23:48 (nineteen years ago) link

i hope marissa kills herself while listening to the black keys. cunt.

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Thursday, 17 February 2005 23:56 (nineteen years ago) link

nonono, see they did a really smart thing here: they managed to introduce two characters even more annoying and difficult to look at than marissa, thus making here seem more watchable/less likely to induce nausea.

that fake tattoo/fake purple streak/point-faced girl has gots ta go. ditto for the pseudo-melissa-joan-hart/linday lohan clone.

bring back the salad days of summer and seth!!

scout (scout), Friday, 18 February 2005 00:28 (nineteen years ago) link

could this have been any worse? </chandler>

the spiderman kiss scene made me kick in my tv.

this is seriously turning into party of five.

LaToya JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 25 February 2005 05:55 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah, that was really embarrassing. I started groaning the minute he slipped off the roof.

gunther heartymeal (keckles), Friday, 25 February 2005 05:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Amusingly, someone on my Oasis list posted to say, "Hey, there was a cover of 'Champagne Supernova' at the end of the episode!"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 February 2005 06:00 (nineteen years ago) link

"Hey, there was a cover of 'Champagne Supernova' at the end of the episode!"

i would like this show a lot more if a secondary character had actually uttered this line in the episode

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Friday, 25 February 2005 06:03 (nineteen years ago) link

This might be the worst S1-S2 falloff in TV history

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 25 February 2005 06:08 (nineteen years ago) link

You guys have no heart. Pretty indefensible, but I thought it was cute.

alex in montreal, Friday, 25 February 2005 15:41 (nineteen years ago) link

they wrapped up everything in this episode, it was lame. also, starting your show with fucking BLIND MELON is not a good idea!!! WTF is this, 1996?

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 25 February 2005 16:53 (nineteen years ago) link

You people are all mental. There was so much lezzing in that episode last night that I didn't know whether to shit or go blind.

Je4nne ƒury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 25 February 2005 16:55 (nineteen years ago) link

the lezzing on this show is like forcing your sister's barbie dolls to make out.

I hope next week it is revealed that Julie Cooper did porn.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 25 February 2005 16:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Um, you are so very very wrong.

Je4nne ƒury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 25 February 2005 17:33 (nineteen years ago) link

"go blind"

LaToya JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 25 February 2005 18:46 (nineteen years ago) link

This week was actually good. Characters with personality, closing up pointless storylines, humor! Punk-grrl stops being a caricature and starts to approach being a real person (and they've dumped some of her truckload of makeup and the harsh lighting).

Maybe the writers finally noticed that this season was going badly and decided to change things.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Monday, 28 February 2005 07:11 (nineteen years ago) link

I was very amused that out of the "The O.C." soundtrack cds (three so far!), there are a number of bands that some friends follow. In fact, it could be argued that there's a significant subset of bands between their record collections and what's played on the show. There was some article in the NY Times where the show creator/writer guy gave some tips on what new albums to watch out for.

I really want to pretend to be the amazon recommendations by going to their apartment, looking at their music, and recommending "The O.C. Season 1" on dvd.

mike h. (mike h.), Monday, 28 February 2005 20:26 (nineteen years ago) link

two weeks pass...
sweater vests and white t-shirts are not a good combo

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:29 (nineteen years ago) link

dude, it's getting so painful to watch.

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Friday, 18 March 2005 21:16 (nineteen years ago) link

A fluke good episode a couple of weeks ago and then back downhill. The Alex-Marissa breakup was terrible, Seth is just annoying. Ryan getting excited about the possibility of fighting a grrl was funny, though. Julie Cooper does porn - also good.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 18 March 2005 21:41 (nineteen years ago) link

the julie cooper porn this is the only good thing this year. that woman is so porny looking anyway that when she tells caleb he should be all "uh, yeah, DUH" about it.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:09 (nineteen years ago) link

I watched about half of it for the first time ever. Great show. Futureheads, Pixies, Husker Du etc etc Mischa Barton etc What's not to like?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:10 (nineteen years ago) link

all the break-ups on this show are so forgiving. the dumpee is always like, yes, "go be with that other guy because you belong together. i'm not sad because it's more important that there be true love." this show needs more bitterness.

crly, Friday, 18 March 2005 22:12 (nineteen years ago) link

What's not to like?

Mischa Barton

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:14 (nineteen years ago) link

She is incredibly beautiful and seems charming.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:16 (nineteen years ago) link

my friend just said she couldn't act her way out of Chino

BWHAHAHA

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:34 (nineteen years ago) link

she has been quoted as saying the worst, most awfully bitchy things over the past year though.

I find her a repulsive stack of bones. I think if they reveal that she is really a DEAD GIRL at the end of the season, all will be redeemed.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:48 (nineteen years ago) link

this show should just be seth and summer shooting one liners back and forth for an hour and abandon all pretense of plot. or, kill all the kids and make it about peter gallagher and kiki.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I'll miss Alex. WTF is up with Ryan's hair?? There's so damn much of it.

Je4nne ƒury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:50 (nineteen years ago) link

dude has a chino mullet

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Friday, 18 March 2005 22:54 (nineteen years ago) link

I saw Mischa Barton at a party last weekend, she is anything but a repulsive stack of bones - you're just going to have to trust me on this one: she is HOTTT.

I also think Peter Gallagher should have played Patrick Bateman 12 years ago.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 23:08 (nineteen years ago) link

Mischa Barton was actually kind of hottt in last night's episode. She didn't look as bony and angular as usual. Still completely wooden, though.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Saturday, 19 March 2005 00:00 (nineteen years ago) link

Season premier tonight. Does anyone give a shit?

*crickets* ƒur¥ (Je4nne Fury), Thursday, 8 September 2005 16:55 (eighteen years ago) link

I totally give a shit. mmm, escapism.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 8 September 2005 19:10 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm hoping it's an improvement on last season, so I'll give it a few episodes.

But if it sucks, my teen-TV loyalties are going to "Supernatural" on the WB.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 19:53 (eighteen years ago) link

Emma and I will be watching this with eagerness, and popcorn. We'll probably have to rewind it when my wife gets home, and start all over again, and that will be okay. I LUV YOU RACHEL BILSON.

Also: The Sports Guy talks wih The O.C. Guy today, and there are some good previews and insights and stuffz.

FUCKIN' CLASSIC, ive been re-watching season 1 - soooo good

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Too bad S2 was soooo bad.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:29 (eighteen years ago) link

I think maybe I was too hard on Marissa's lesbian love, the season got even worse after they wrapped that up.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:31 (eighteen years ago) link

I like that Amateurist started this thread.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 8 September 2005 21:15 (eighteen years ago) link

heeeeyahhh i love the OC! its all pretty n glittery n shit.

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Thursday, 8 September 2005 22:57 (eighteen years ago) link

Bill Simmons makes my eyes bleed.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 September 2005 23:01 (eighteen years ago) link

trey did the right thing. julie is still evil. summer is still hotttttt. all is right with the world.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Friday, 9 September 2005 00:17 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't like it when they make Julie really-really evil. She's better running a stupid magazine and joking about lesbian flings. Mildly evil.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Friday, 9 September 2005 00:19 (eighteen years ago) link

This was the most anti-climactic season opener of any show ever!
