Prior to his performance at Joe’s Pub in NYC this past Tuesday night, Miguel sat with MTV for a brief interview regarding his newly released EP, forthcoming album Kaleidoscope Dream, the unique release plan they are rolling out and he even exclusively revealed the next single coming from the second EP.

Speaking about the upcoming “Kaleidoscope Dreams: Air Preview” EP, he described it as “really light and fun,” and exclusively revealed to MTV that the title of the next single from ‘Air Preview’ is called “Drugs,” and it is sure to get the fans talking.

“Let’s just say the single for the Air Preview should strike up quite a bit of conversation. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Miguel said. “It’s a very personal and, I guess, kind of carefree song.”

Miguel admits that the tracks on Water Preview may be all about romance and relationships, but since his 2010 debut, All I Want Is You, Miguel has done a lot of growing up and says Kaleidoscope Dream is a “clear projection of my life.”

“The first album, All I Want Is You, revolved so much around my romantic experience. I’ve had three major relationships; each one of my girlfriends kind of taught me something new,” Miguel said. “This time around, I wanted to discuss more of my perspective of life — not necessarily with the opposite sex, and I do that on the album as well, but the majority of the album, I would say, is about my life.”

he also started doing drugs?

i don't think him saying the album is not all necessarily about life with the opposite sex = a frank ocean moment.

prefer the longer version now, either way

like the extra min but not the silly prince opening in the vid. the more abrupt start helped the ~mystique~.

the longer version was the original but he prefers the shorter version

glad "arch n point" made the cut! wish "gravity" would've replaced "candles"

when's it out again?

never heard "pussy is mine" before. there's definitely the workings of a dope song there, but sounds kinda demo-ish

the version of "candles" that's on the album is the slower version that he's been playing live

i'm glad it's not just the EP version w/ the Lennon sample cut out, that weirdly makes that version of the song work for me

p much loathe 'candles' and deplore the long, grody post-ocean shadow it casts over this album and the adorn/use me/arch in point axis

agree with this even tho the new version of "Adorn" is basically my favorite thing ever

i can see why they'd put arch n point on there tho

"arch & point" is the best ADC song yeah but if you want to reuse ADC tracks have the decency to put them as bonus tracks or something - if the next preview EP is tracks 4-6 that'll leave us with uhhh two new songs when the album drops

i'd have less of a problem with reusing the tracks if it seemed as if the album was gonna be like the finished expanded apotheosis of the adc ep sketches, but it doesnt and so feels more like a cheaper cherrypick

the title track btw is definitely arty but it sounded pretty cool -- prod by salaam
