they really need mike tho, otherwise theyll just get murdered by the competition, dont really have any other connection to muscle, also mike is really smart, although clearly incapable of preventing walt from doing stupid things

idk they could find some muscle I think. muscle is the easiest thing to get. cutting 17% to a guy who hates you, this is not something I can see a dude like walt actually doing. not a huge sticking point, show is p much gonna rule no matter what, all they gotta do is let the well-written characters be who they are & they're gold. I just think like seriously? you get the fucking market locked down and the first thing you do is offer a dude a full third? c'mon now guys literally nobody would do that

I think my favorite scene this week was the Ted visit in the hospital - Skyler coming into her own monstrousness, the director & writer really willing to humiliate the character so completely - hardcore shit imo

xp afaik all Mike really does is protect the dudes who know the stuff, he's yr classic noir/thriller guy who can put you next to an M16. all the information about Gus's routes was just destroyed by Mike, running an operation on that scale is not a "let's go with Mike - he really knows the stuff," it's a huge business undertaking.trust me I deal a lot of meth

"the drug game" as a thing smart dudes can memorize and keep in their heads is one myth this show happily makes fun of. big players in the drug game are not sociopathic dudes with an internal code of honor whose caustic patter both frightens and charms us. big players look like what Gus looked like 95% of the time, some fuckin guy managing a burger joint.

you may be right that hes not ideal for the job but it doesnt really matter as hes the only person walt n jesse have any connection to who has any dea what hes doing in the drug business

SUCH a great last line. Because he does forgive her. But OMG, if the Death Plant reveal at the end of the last season wasn't evidence enough that Walt has lost his moral compass, this seals it even further. He doesn't realize anymore when he's done something bad. Talk about an antihero. He's truly psychopathic.

they have repeatedly shown what a total badass mike is, he's not some ten a penny thug. i mean they gave him that amazing assault on precinct 13 scene to tell us this. he is a complete pro.

great episode. loved the two fat guys in the scrap yard high fiving each other.

show's got a magnet fetish. my favorite bit of slapstick from last season was the magnet on walt's carbomb sticking to the elevator door.

i'm looking forward to more hank. loved walt jr's get-the-audience-back-on-track speech in the beginning and also how he was like WOW uncle hank is gonna be an even BIGGER badass now huh dad?
