i think maybe the easiest cheapest thing to do is buy one of those cheapo crosley retro things for a hundred bucks. one with a 78 speed. and just use it for 78s.

i love my rega and i have the cheapest one. they are built for simpletons like me who like good sound. had it for 6 years or so and never had a problem. reminds me i need to order a needle...

is this the Numark? I'll probably recommend he gets this for 78s and something better for his regular stereo.

yeah, that's what i use.the 78 needles are about $20 and easily obtainable online.
