International post-punk compilations

A tribute to Mr. Odd,

The post-punk internet radio station Punk Funk Radio has officially captured my heart. I'm just stunned. A nice smattering of some of my fave post-punk tracks mixed in with a few I've never even experienced before. Amazing.

you have to go to live365.com to find it though. Which means you can either tolerate the ads or pay the outrageous price of $71 at minimum. Disgusting. If they were 20, 30, even $40, I would have considered it but $71 is ridiculous.

Oh damnit now he's playing Boots For Dancing! That's one of my favourites, holy shit! Where are the people who like this kind of stuff? Please, please forward me to them.

Anyone heard this? LP only as far as I can tell, Aquarius has it listed.

Life In The Future: Swedish Post-Punk & Synth Wave 79-87

It's quite good. If this is the kind of stuff you like....Though I wouldn't say any of it improves on the English/US models. Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons are probably the best thing--a great Crash Course in Science uptempo twitch; Reason to Live pretty much steal Depeche Mode blind ("New Life"); and Unter Den Linden come off like New Order covering "24 Hours."

I found this on Spotify, technically it's not post-punk - stylistically much of it is. I'd never seen it before! Now you can hear bands complaining in Italian or Brazilian Portuguese!

World Class Punk

So this Irish post punk compilation is relly relly good. Liner notes are fantastic. Need to investigate this Roger Doyle fellow some more.

I've been listening to this since last week, its well worth a listen.

Its a really well sequenced compilation. one that sounds like it went through various iterations on cassette/CDs given to friends till Roger Doyle was finally happy with results.

No, just saw it on that site I usually check for new salsa releases. Occasionally they throw in other sorts of things.

I was able to sample a few tracks, much more consistent than "Tension". Ordered, will review.

That Spanish comp, "Sombras: Spanish Post Punk And Dark Pop 1981-1986" is quite good, only a handful of duff tracks.

It's much more consistent than "Mutazione: Italian Electronic & New Wave Underground 1980 - 1988", which I felt wasn't all that strong. It's mostly in the vein of early 80s new wave synthpop, quite fun.

Anyone familiar with "Nos Années Punk 1977-1980"? It's sort of a mash of French punk and new wave, not all gold but has it's moments.
