"I totally get what you mean, I love new and old styles of house myself, but I can't stay repeating what I did and played in 1993, I feel so stagnant doing that. I try to still keep the groove of things I love, and I always keep a very open mind, there are serious soulful places I play like southportweekender, and I see just how far I can go before people start scratching their heads, and vice versa in other places that are a bit more techy. In saying this I have always played music I love, and I make music the same way. If I didn't I would stop today right now, It's all love for me, I have a lot of respect for other people and DJ's views who come to see and hear me, and I hope to continue to do what I love, and for people to enjoy it. Feedback is all always appreciated, it helps me improve. With Love and respect to everyone, Kerri"

Yea yea I totes agree w him and don't expect him to stay in the past or anything and wouldn't want him to either!

Mix might be great and shouldnt have said anything without playing first, it was just an initial thought about the track list. I'm away from puter now for couple weeks so prob won't hear did a while which is why posted without hearing which I rouldnt normally

haha, to be honest I was a bit discouraged too when you said lee foss. but it also made me curious so I downloaded it and will listen to it soon.

Just finished a rum to KC's RA podcast, felt that the last 40 mins were better than the first hour. Possibly something to do with him pulling tracks that are 'a snapshot'. I read this as him not really planning in advance what he was going to play. I respect that, too many podcasts appear to be trying to capture someone's cool tastes. The Boiler Room mix he did retraced a lot of 90's music and was really fantastic.

― jimitheexploder, Friday, June 29, 2012

first track on this was a big record last year with Zip, Move D and others - heard it out quite a bit

http://www.discogs.com/Analogue-Cops-Manola-EP/release/2713822

coal, Saturday, 30 June 2012 10:20 (eleven years ago) link

i think we talked about that somewhere else too

i like all of the restoration EPs i've heard but they can sometimes be sort of monotonously banging and finding them is tough and pressings are maybe not the best i understand. the lucretio and marieu tracks are mostly awesome, i think it's the xenogears tracks and guest spots i'm not always convinced by

i think i would actually say i prefer the lucretio and marieu solo EP releases on range gate and machine state labels (respectively) i think a little more

the late great, Saturday, 30 June 2012 10:52 (eleven years ago) link

eh fucked that up, should've said machine state and enlightened wax respectively

the late great, Saturday, 30 June 2012 10:53 (eleven years ago) link

never dig parassela's works. it's too.. I don't know, primal.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 1 July 2012 09:52 (eleven years ago) link

thats what I like about it

wasn't really into that Manola EP thing

jimitheexploder, Sunday, 1 July 2012 09:59 (eleven years ago) link

from last year but this track is massive. haunting me in the good way.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUVrqX2oBKA

hardhouse banter (tpp), Sunday, 1 July 2012 22:36 (eleven years ago) link

so what didn't you like about the manolo ep? "why you love me" is actually a bit of an outlier, most of the earlier stuff is less samples, more synths and 909, less house and more techno, less swing. more UR than moodymann. authentic shitty dry sound of crap pressings.

i would say my favorite thing so far w them is "quarto" from the blawan + cops thing, there are def marieu and lucretio solo tracks that compare favorably both on their individual labels and restoration but they aren't as heavy or swung as the new ones.

the late great, Sunday, 1 July 2012 23:03 (eleven years ago) link

finally released it seems

this set is fucking amazing: http://soundcloud.com/move-d/mmh-pudel-openair-2012-06-17

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 10:14 (eleven years ago) link

yeah I like MMH - saw them at corscica last year, was really great - not usually the biggest fan of 'live house music' but had a really organic feel...had already downloaded the set linked but not played yet

coal, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 12:35 (eleven years ago) link

actually they just uploaded another one about 5 mins ago, from vienna, not played this yet either

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:06 (eleven years ago) link

there's a download button on the top left of the player thing beside share and favourites

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:11 (eleven years ago) link

oh i see you were talking about the set you posted. There's programs for that i guess

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:12 (eleven years ago) link

haha i wasn't all "how do i shot soundcloud", not quite that out of touch!

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:13 (eleven years ago) link

hey, it took me ages to find the volume thing on there

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:16 (eleven years ago) link

i still use tracer's method -

view source, a do a find for

streamUrl":"http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/

then copy and paste everything inside the double quotes starting with http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/

in this case that's http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/iMHd65pdtNPy?stream_token=ktNzd

move d's sets just never fail

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 5 July 2012 08:49 (eleven years ago) link

and he doesn't seem to have any hesitancy with posting many of his sets online

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 5 July 2012 08:51 (eleven years ago) link

As it should be, too many DJs are precious and only allow super-slick polished mixes (probably cleaned-up after the fact or with edits) rather than keeping the raw energy of an in-the-moment recording.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 5 July 2012 16:27 (eleven years ago) link

That new Eprom album Metahuman really is worth a blast. In places it sounds like something a young knobhead would blast out in a stolen Subaru but is also quite playful and experimental. Probably on the wrong thread here.

The Forward Strategy Group is really good, all clanging, metallic textures against industrial dones - makes me think of Andy Stott's recent material but played at 45 instead of 33.
