some interesting Huaraches there, and are those some dodgy old Moabs on the bottom row? Top right = rowr

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:41 (nineteen years ago) link

I don't like huraches or mowabbs tbh just not my thing at all. I like the delta force definitely. Not for me though.
What were tyou thinking Liz? girly trainers? black? white?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:15 (nineteen years ago) link

No no not black or white. I'm thinking brownish - see Caitlin's nice trainers above for the kind of shape I like - broadly Puma-ish. Not sure about velcro fastenings though - I'm a bit of a laces rockist.

Mmmmmm.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Not big into puma myself, but i like those.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:44 (nineteen years ago) link

that shape of shoe is getting old really quickly though isn't it?

x-post obv, but those white and blue pumas are exactly what I'm talking about. The Lacoste's are pretty cool though

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Massive x-posts! Liz, lemme rectify: the Adidas Arosa boot comes in brown.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Nice pic, Pink, but the ones with headbands for straps will never be that cool.
You don't like vandals????? Each to their own I guess.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Speaking of Lacoste:

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:55 (nineteen years ago) link

They might be a bit chunky about the toe for a lady, though.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:55 (nineteen years ago) link

I've seen a few local lassies wearing those pink and white Lacostes in Glasgow's "Merchant City East".

Welly lovers should note that the Big W has really nice floral ones for a mere £12. I'm not sure if you can get them in a normal Woolworth's though. Does anyone have a Big W near them? Nobody I know has ever heard of it, except through my marvelling at its wondrousness.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:56 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm not even sure why I like these but I do:

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah I know what you mean, not sure about the sole, but the colours are lovely.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:57 (nineteen years ago) link

samba skates????
http://a712.g.akamai.net/7/712/225/1d/www.footlocker.com/images/products/large/036169_l.jpg

those blue ones are a 1980 re-issue, hence the dodgy sole

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Mmmm. My navy/white Diadora's are about on their last legs at the mo, so moving away from blue is a new thing for me.

xpost innit - those are nice but somewhat too Sk8r for me.

Madchen, there's a Big W on an exciting retail estate in Newport near my Mum's - near a Lidl where I buy cheap amaretto.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:00 (nineteen years ago) link

simple and understated those original pumas.

I can't wait to get over to that amerriky again

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:01 (nineteen years ago) link

Woah, hold the weddin'!

http://www.officeholdings.co.uk/images/shoes/71096143b.jpg

Those are nice, Chris. You don't need platforms though ;)

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:02 (nineteen years ago) link

tyhese ones from stussy should be named "remedials" but they're still nice, and only 50 bucks!

Or "clubfoot".

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:05 (nineteen years ago) link

i like those brown leather lacostes up there. are they pricey?

sgs (sgs), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:07 (nineteen years ago) link

that shape of shoe is getting old really quickly though isn't it?

I thought this said "the shape of shoe", and I was going to OTM you. Alas. Anyway, I'm bored of shoes, and their shape. I might swear off them altogether and become a dirty (and probably bloody) footed hippy.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:12 (nineteen years ago) link

RE: Liz's Lacoste Futro's - I'm buying those in black for meself one day.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:14 (nineteen years ago) link

Yes they flipping well are, SGS. *sigh* Microwave or trainers, daddy or chips?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:15 (nineteen years ago) link

I didn't say they were nice!

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:17 (nineteen years ago) link

Are these wrong? If so, why do I feel so...drawn...to them?

sgs, Lacoste Futro's are 69.99 quid.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:21 (nineteen years ago) link

The shiny bit is bad, isn't it?

Are these any better?

http://www.faith.co.uk/jpg/productImages/413176af.jpg

They're plastic, but they're also cheap.

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:23 (nineteen years ago) link

Liz, please, let the pros handle this.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Reminds me of a beetle, or a cockroach.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:27 (nineteen years ago) link

Haha I suck.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:37 (nineteen years ago) link

We must go to Japan!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:41 (nineteen years ago) link

I just bought these on eBay.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:49 (nineteen years ago) link

looks good mark!

sgs (sgs), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Thanks hon. Those shoes I found for you are up to £22.33 - still interested? Here they are if anyone wants to give an opinion.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:57 (nineteen years ago) link

ha ha, I've got a pair of those red ears. They rub across the top of the toes if you've got wide feet, but they look nice

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:05 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm not big on Red Ear. But I have to say, the Adidas boots posted are frigging great (the ones on the website are cool, but not essential - the hiking influence with the high tops is a li'l too strong). How may we plan our en masse trip to Japan? That's one of my life ambitions right there!

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:08 (nineteen years ago) link

I have narrow feet--my hesitation was that they look a little wide for me from the photo. Mark suggested these because my old red shoes are knackered. (I'll see if I can find a picture of those--they're about the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.)

Would Japanese shoes be made big enough for my feet, I wonder.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:09 (nineteen years ago) link

those red ears are mega wide, but they kind of crease right across the top of my toes. I have them in brown though, natch

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:13 (nineteen years ago) link

hm, yeah, they'd probably be too wide for me. (Best pass, Mark, unless you think you'd wear them!) Can't find a photo of my old ones, but they're made by this company: http://www.trippen-shoes.com
They were expensive but have been well worth it.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:20 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm getting these tomorrow...
(the ones smack bang in the middle. For the uninitiated the Harris Tweed Terminators will be mine, oh yes!)

Chris - apparently Sole trader have them too, in bigger sizes, well 8 for sure.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 12 November 2004 12:24 (nineteen years ago) link

Apparently (according to my man at Size) "all the fashionistas are wearing them" so they've pretty much sold out. He's kept me a pair which is handy!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 12 November 2004 12:27 (nineteen years ago) link

oh crikey, if that's the case I don't want them (the fashionistas that is)
