Also liked today's NYT: triple stacked fifteens top and bottom, but all six were recognizable phrases. Needless to say, Rex P hated it.

i don't hate triple stacked fifteens like a lot of people. my least favorite "type" is probably the running quotation

Yes, me too! I find those quip puzzles torture to solve because the theme is really giving me no information for a long time and I am not at that level where I can just ignore it and fill in the crosses. They all seem to be more or less the same sentence: "Whenever I am asked blah blah blah, I always say it isn't the blah blah blah, but the blah blah blah" It's like an overlong, poorly done Match Game question without Brett Somers or Charles Nelson Reilly to turn it into something funny.

Early this week I peeked at the solution to a puzzle I didn't do, and the first entry was "MTWTF," and I was like, "Mount WTF? What could that possibly refer to?"

trying to see if i can get the muller music meta from the expert version...finished the puzzle but haven't found the secret clue yet

Usually no good at those either but got this one. Some clues have two answers, one of which sticks out over margin

i got the band and three of the albums but i couldn't figure out the last one so i guessed. also assumed that all four were in succession, which might be wrong.

Hmmm, my first time doing his puzzles. I solved it, but I don't see any album titles. I see ebony and black in opposite positions. Dark Side of the Moon, maybe?

Yeah, that was it. There is some controversy over non-parallelism of theme answers.

oh good that was my guess. the three other albums are in the answers. the puzzle's title makes it easy.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan either, apart from the Syd days, but I was able to get it. Most people were annoyed that for the other three albums the theme album described what was on the cover, but in the fourth case it was a description of the title.

i guess these are all supposed to be iconic covers or whatever but if you'd asked me before five minutes ago what the 'wish you were here' cover looks like i wouldn't have been able to tell you

they were painted on the backs of naked poolside women as seen in every dorm room, shd be common knowledge

update: this is fun and hard! but i'm cheating as much as possible.

i'm not usually much for non-american standard crossword puzzles but i think i should maybe start giving diagramless a shot
