in the wild these generally seem to be the purview of guys with ponytails and sandals

has anything good ever come of them

nah, but i did find some very old acid which seems appropriate considering: The tuning is (from low to high): CGDAEG, and can be remembered by the mnemonic "California Guitarists Drop Acid Every Gig"

sad true story - we had a dude special order the eastwood breadwinner reissue and then bail, so if anyone wants to see one in the MPLS/STPL, its hanging on my goddamn guitar wall

you don't sound bitter at all

diamanda ram dass (Edward III), Friday, 1 June 2012 20:50 (eleven years ago) link

I seem to recall that Joe Strummer would harass Ovations players into giving them up - saying some sort of double-entendre like "you have to have some wood behind your sound"

^ when you're not playing you can use it to open enormous bottles of beer

i will begrudgingly admit that it is a pretty comfortable guitar and it sounds good but

my first reaction upon seeing that is if you painted it red and blue, it would be a Super Mario Guitar

nine years pass...

"What if we developed an acoustic guitar that could reproduce the tinny sound of an amplified acoustic guitar, but without amplification?" God I hate these.
