Sorry if I seem like some paid street team, I'm not, I've just always liked their music and still do.

OMG I have a day off in Chicago on 10/21.

the other day i saw Wings of Desire for the first time, knowing that there would be some Nick Cave action. And when the first nightclub scene popped up, I actually thought it was Nick Cave. The song was absolutely amazing! And the "live" performance as well. Just phenomenal. Later I realized that the band was actually Crime & the City Solution, and the song is "Six Bells Chime".
I notice from the recent link that their upcoming tour concludes in Berlin, at the C Club. Is that the same club as in the film?

Curious to see how this new lineup is going to sound... so far all the previous incarnations have been great in their own particular ways.
In passing, David Eugene Edwards put a track up on Soundcloud from the forthcoming Wovenhand album which seems to me to have something of a Crime influence... I guess he'll fit in pretty well.

Holy reunions, Chicago: Crime is playing here the same night as PiL, New Order and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

ZS - the club (the Esplanade) in WoD does not exist any more - I managed to go there in 1993 but it was probably in its last days.

anyone seen them? should I shell out for it next week? I used to love this band although admittedly some of that was probably mick harvey-driven.

Interesting what Bonney had been doing:
“Naturally”, says Simon, “I sat and I pieced together a PhD application about decision making in Afghanistan in the late ‘80s. But, as it turned out, it was actually more of a record than it was a PhD.”
The PhD had Bonney travelling around the world — the Indo-Pacific region, particularly — and delivering aid programs. Witnessing places with high levels of violence made a profound impact on him and shaped the album

First show of the tour, in someone's living room - I was just behind the person filming this. Lucky to be on time getting in, there's only room for 30-40 people there, I'd say.
Some great new interpretations (especially liked The Bride Ship) , but also some things they'll surely iron out over the coming shows. Some might not, but I like Bronwyn being an element of surprise/chaos to the rest of the band sometimes :-)

95+ minute show - https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/crime-and-the-city-solution/2023/cant-live-in-a-living-room-haacht-belgium-3ba1448c.html
Nothing from American Twilight, and only after getting home did I notice they hadn't played Keepsake (one of my favourite songs by them) and I hadn't even missed it. Very recommended if they're near you.
