not really, it's just a running joke about how ilx poster 'markers' and pitchforkreviewsreviews auteur 'david shapiro' are two sides of the same ambiguously vapid indiedude coin

this is pretty excruciating:

His rhymes often owe more to Dr. Seuss than they do to Dr. Dre, and it's exciting to hear rappers rap like this, without concern for the boundaries of the genre.

1. Trying to get "behind the mask" of riff raff misses the point of riff raff 2. How on earth could you write a piece like that without acknowledging the giant elephant of RACE 3. Tko capone's "gucci louis" has many more times as many views as any riff raff song which makes me o_O at the disproportionate coverage but never underestimate media fascination with a cartoonish white rapper

tko capone is kinda interesting in his own right, but i think riff raff is much more interesting in many ways than capone, even if he doesn't have a "hit" with the views of "harry potter"
