read that as "swoop into the defecator"

some people at my office do but not many. last fall the building put in a subway-style turnstile thing at the entrance; i've seen far fewer people even wearing their IDs after that, which is kinda interesting.

er, the turnstile needs an ID swipe to open, if that wasn't clear

So, when someone says "lanyard" I think of the plastic craft stuff we used to make key chains out of at camp that apparently some total weirdos in other parts of the country called "gimp".

I am so so so glad I no longer have to deal with these things any more.
That said, I have picked up the habit of occasionally trying to wave my Oyster Card at the gate of my building trying to get in. But at least I no longer try to insert my debit card into tube turnstiles.

most people in my work wear a lanyard, i refuse to wear it, i just swing it around in my hand as i walk. it gets you access to the building and then through the doors that you're allowed through once youre in there. but the front doors stay open for so long once they swing open and holding the doors inside the building for anyone who is behind you is so common that really as far as security measures go it's beyond useless. im a civil servant, we work with sensitive material but not like national security sensitive or anything.
