When "Computer Love" kicks in with the full force beatz about halfway through it's like the happiest moment of my life.

Anyway, I've never heard Computer Love, sorry. (Not a huge Kraftwerk fan tho I do love Menschmaschine). But Rick Johnson's review in CREEM was fucking hilarious as usual. And check this out:
1981 Computer-World Black Albums #32 1981 Computer-World Pop Albums #72

The inner sleeve artwork should be the outer sleeve artwork tho'. And vice versa.

Will someone PLEASE link me back to the thread about best Kraftwerk album poll?
I was duped twice! i TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I said this is the best Kraftwerk album bar none. But where is the damn thread?

In the interest of Fair and Balanced, Man Machine is pretty damn good, too. And I don't often listen to Trans Europe Express in one sitting, but I'm still kind unexpectedly charmed when I shuffle the iPod and get, say, "Franz Schubert".
But this is still myfavorite Kraftwerk album.
― kenan, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 06:24 (sixteen years ago) link
ha, bimble: i can never actually decide which is my favourite. i can't even remember which i voted in that poll (though it would have been this or radio-activity).
damn, i'm in the mood for some kraftwerk now.

i think the remix of computer love is actually a bit better than the original
It's not possible to be more wrong than this

I love Man-Machine, and I think I may have even voted for it in that poll, but somehow it sounds more like a period piece than Computer World. Computer World could have been released any year from 1981 to the present and it would still be incredible. Mad props to Man-Machine still, though.

somebody out there please explain to me why this is not the greatest album ever made. because i'm listening to it right now and it is absolutely 100% perfect.
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 21:09 (twelve years ago) link
i tend to agree. so, so perfect.

yeah. i'd say radioactivity is just as good, though.

I've never cared for this album as much as the 4 70s albums. I think it shows the beginnings of the creative drought which hit them big time with Electric Cafe.

no. this is the best kraftwerk album.

The very very subtly different 12" mix, strips out some of the syncopation, turns up the snare

I don't know if I really buy that anagram. they were plenty creative on CW. the problem is they never really figured out where to go from there.
― frogbs, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 10:52 (twelve years ago) link
Main reason to have that single on vinyl is to have a 45 rpm full-side pressing of 'numbers' xpost
Everyone knows the best kraftwerk album is the debut
― Milton Parker, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 10:53 (twelve years ago) link
the problem is they took so long after computer world that they got beat at their own game in the meantime

I listened to this again today and it was some of the most pleasure I've gotten from music in a while. It even completely fit the beautiful sunny weather.

The only negative I can't think of is that "It's More Fun to Compute", while an excellent song, doesn't really feel like a good closer.
Couldn't disagree more, it's a perfect closer (like 'Morgenspaziergang' or 'Franz Schubert').
― The Count has shot himself (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 October 2014 14:28 (nine years ago) link
It's a good closer, just not an obvious closer. It could have worked as well earlier in the album.

yeah I take back what I said seven years ago, this is 100% great. Also, if anyone hasn't heard the Tokyo 1981 live boot, it's essential.

I bought some nice speakers a couple of years ago. They haven't exactly blown me away, I must be honest. However, the one album that makes me go 'oh wow, that's why I invested in these speakers' is Computer World. There are these little electronic fireworks going off all over the place. I have totally fallen in love with the record all over again.
