everyone should go to Z&H in hyde park for a sandwich sometime, I'm sure I've evangelized for them before

also I saw that sunset while leaving the laundromat and grocery store, and with the added lightning it was awesome indeed

i feel like we have the sandwich chain every week or two. for the record, i find jimmy john's more palatable than most of the sandwich chains because i like their thick sandwich bread and their fake guacamole. however, their sandwiches always give me heartburn for some reason.

we ate at big bricks last night. it was good (had pizza with pureed artichoke sauce instead of tomato sauce), seems like it would be a chill hang-out place. wasn't that busy (at 6:30ish) and they were playing old reggae at a reasonable volume. they have some tvs but the one in the back room wasn't even on. looks like they'll have a back patio set up soon too.

we also went to black dog gelato. i had cinnamon brown sugar gelato and salted peanut gelato.

Chicago threads always make me hungry.

sorry that should have been "i feel like we have the sandwich chain DISCUSSION every YEAR or two." i'm having serious serious allergy problems and it's messing with my brain.

I love JJ's sub roll bread. I've said it a million times before, but it's delicious with just butter or butter and cheddar cheese.

And they sell it for 50 cents when it's "expired," a few hours after it's baked.

going out for lunch today if anyone wants to meet up (not at jimmy johns). flexible as to time and location. but if no one wants to meet up, i'll just go to chipotle.

I'm going home early because I feel decidedly unwell.

I have to do something at 1 pm (which is why I didn't call in altogether) and then I am definitely cabbing it home. I am sort of afraid I'll fall down the El steps or something because I'm a dizzy rascal. I should be on the couch and snoozing to episodes of Arrested Development by 2.

Ugh, your stupid ears! Why won't they just work right?

A doctor wanted to put tubes in my ears when I was a kid and my mom said no so I blame her.

unfortunately i read that as pubes and am STILL LAUGHING

If Q continues to have ear infections at the rate he's had them so far, we may have to consider tubes in his ears (not ready for the highly experimental pubes approach just yet). I'll take carl's situation into account if and when we need to consider that option.

tbf to my mom, I don't know if tubes would have mattered. I think I basically have the eustachean tubes of a three year old.

Like, it would probably be useful for me to have tubes in my ears now, but I don't know if it would have mattered if I'd had them as a kid.

What do the tubes do? Are they permanent?

They're for drainage and they are supposed to fall out after awhile.
