Yes, it would indeed.
Crucibloggers saying that they really enjoyed the puzzles and that these will be available for sale on the website soon. Thinking of getting them.

Second of these music themed meta-puzzles available here today: http://pmxwords.com/. A little too easy.

I did the AV Club this morning and there was a musical clue that was slightly off but now I see someone else doing it and it seems like a different version of the puzzle.

OK, the one I saw was the wrong one, pre-edit.

also dude just had a baby so i guess he's allowed a little slack
― 40oz of tears (Jordan), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 17:13 (eleven years ago) link
I know. I did. I am not complaining, was just enjoying the ever-rarer opportunity for some music trivia pedantry.
Can't see the puzzle here, it is on my home computer. 19 Across in the NW was clued as 'Single from "This Charming Man" The clue and answer are different now.

ah right. i've never really listened to the Smiths so i was just like "sure, i guess".

Came here to recommend today's crosSynergy puzzle by Patrick Blindauer, "Broken Eggs," which can be found in the forum at Amy R's crossword blog under Island of Loss Puzzles (CrossSynergy) http://www.crosswordfiend.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=16&sid=025df1d6e0c4ba0476eff67c4b1a8446 Nice little gimmick with clean fill and smooth cluing.

Also liked today's NYT: triple stacked fifteens top and bottom, but all six were recognizable phrases. Needless to say, Rex P hated it.
― ratso piazzolla (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 30 June 2012 16:06 (eleven years ago) link
i don't hate triple stacked fifteens like a lot of people. my least favorite "type" is probably the running quotation
― radical ferry (donna rouge), Saturday, 30 June 2012 16:24 (eleven years ago) link
Yes, me too! I find those quip puzzles torture to solve because the theme is really giving me no information for a long time and I am not at that level where I can just ignore it and fill in the crosses. They all seem to be more or less the same sentence: "Whenever I am asked blah blah blah, I always say it isn't the blah blah blah, but the blah blah blah" It's like an overlong, poorly done Match Game question without Brett Somers or Charles Nelson Reilly to turn it into something funny.

Early this week I peeked at the solution to a puzzle I didn't do, and the first entry was "MTWTF," and I was like, "Mount WTF? What could that possibly refer to?"

and i just tried like 20 gaffney puzzles and i think i'm just terrible at metas
― NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Monday, 13 August 2012 06:23 (eleven years ago) link
Usually no good at those either but got this one. Some clues have two answers, one of which sticks out over margin

― these wilburys taste like wilburys (donna rouge), Monday, 8 October 2012 14:56 (eleven years ago) link
i got the band and three of the albums but i couldn't figure out the last one so i guessed. also assumed that all four were in succession, which might be wrong.
― zachylon (zachlyon), Monday, 8 October 2012 20:05 (eleven years ago) link
Hmmm, my first time doing his puzzles. I solved it, but I don't see any album titles. I see ebony and black in opposite positions. Dark Side of the Moon, maybe?
― obamana (abanana), Monday, 8 October 2012 20:57 (eleven years ago) link
Yeah, that was it. There is some controversy over non-parallelism of theme answers.
― Cosmic Fopp (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 8 October 2012 21:19 (eleven years ago) link
oh good that was my guess. the three other albums are in the answers. the puzzle's title makes it easy.
― zachylon (zachlyon), Monday, 8 October 2012 21:44 (eleven years ago) link
does it? i had no idea wtf it meant but tbh i don't like pink floyd
― these wilburys taste like wilburys (donna rouge), Monday, 8 October 2012 21:48 (eleven years ago) link
it doesn't require any familiarity with the music!

http://www.feelnumb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/503c5_johnny-rotten-pink-floyd.jpgYeah, I'm not the biggest fan either, apart from the Syd days, but I was able to get it. Most people were annoyed that for the other three albums the theme album described what was on the cover, but in the fourth case it was a description of the title.
― Cosmic Fopp (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 8 October 2012 21:59 (eleven years ago) link

i wish i still had the puzzle up to see it, i spent a good 10 minutes looking for any mention of rainbows or prisms or triangles or space
― zachylon (zachlyon), Monday, 8 October 2012 22:07 (eleven years ago) link
i do now
and now feel vaguely annoyed about it
i guess these are all supposed to be iconic covers or whatever but if you'd asked me before five minutes ago what the 'wish you were here' cover looks like i wouldn't have been able to tell you
