If I Can't be drunk I don't want to be Alive by Flipper which may be a tribute to Bert Jansch who I think Bruce lose's dad used to promote in the States. There's some reference to Jansch's wastedness having some influence on Flipper in either Colin Harper's Dazzling Stranger or the oral history of punk in san francisco I read a couple of years ago.

Trinklied by Neubauten, though it's been an age since I saw the lyrics translated so it might not be advocating drinking.

Loads of the Pogues though I don't think that's necessarily beer based.

Maybe the Morris music electrifications that Ashley Hutchings did with Richard Thompson etc in the mid 70s set up the feeling for drinking real ale but maybe it's not overt.

& the Dubliners were all about the session which involved many a pint of porter as were Planxty, the Bothy BAnd and Christy Moore.
I guess Thin Lizzy were more about whiskey.

Oi always sounds beery to me. The Business's "Harry May" in particular.

Titus Andronicus strikes me as particularly beery.

where was that article that classified bands as either "Bud" bands or
Miller" bands? like 20 years ago, maybe a fanzine (or was it even Grand Royal?) anyone know what I'm talking about? I think the Beasties, Butthole Surfers, and Black Flag were "Bud" bands. Maybe the Meat Puppets were a "Miller" band. something like that?
