freeze... dried... mice

reconstituted mouse corpse - just add water
Any wine, really, as long as there's lots and lots of it.
Speaking of which, I can't wait for Sandra Lee to use these in a recipe.

fwiw this is preferable to the freezer bags full of frozen mice my housemate used to keep in the freezer to feed her monitor lizard

how did your housemate hook the lizard up to her computer?
― dayo, Friday, 11 May 2012 15:25 (eleven years ago) link

And why does her computer's mouse always go missing?

Don't worry, when the mice defrost they become GUI.

I'd be actually tempted to give one of these to my cats. It's like tater tos for pets.

very much like tater toes

i've seen cats kill mice for sport but never actually eat one. do cats actually eat mice?
― Philip Nunez, Friday, 11 May 2012 18:41 (eleven years ago) link
Yes
― Love Max Ophüls of us all (Michael White), Friday, 11 May 2012 20:07 (eleven years ago) link
definitely!
― Roger Barfing (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 11 May 2012 20:09 (eleven years ago) link
like tail and all? not just a nibble here and there for ceremony. i've never seen a domestic cat do this.
― Philip Nunez, Friday, 11 May 2012 20:58 (eleven years ago) link
not sure that "eating mice" necessarily entails eating every bit of the mouse. i've known cats to eat the most parts of mice.

I've known cats to eat most of the mice and bring us the entrails and maybe the tail? Also they don't seem to like chipmunk tails, presumably because they're all fuzz and no meat.

hm... maybe the cats i know are ana-cats.
― Philip Nunez, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:06 (eleven years ago) link
my cats growing up would eat both birds and mice. there was usually a bit of a mess left over - feathers, tails, feet what have you

When our cats have encountered mice, they got agitated and then just stared them in puzzled awe.

I have heard a biologist refer to mice as "nature's popcorn", but this is provides an unexpected proof-of-concept.
