Gore poodle!!

Dale, dale, dale (Abbbottt), Friday, 4 May 2012 23:39 (eleven years ago) link

The only songs I really like from Ultra are the singles.

Dale, dale, dale (Abbbottt), Friday, 4 May 2012 23:39 (eleven years ago) link

I do like "Useless" and "Home" a lot but I wouldn't have expected #1 votes for either

You know I have always been confused about "lay" v "lie" for getting on a bed verbs and that song is one of many that hasn't helped.

Dale, dale, dale (Abbbottt), Friday, 4 May 2012 23:48 (eleven years ago) link

I was the #1 vote for "Photographic." Prefer the Some Bizzarre version, natch. Deffo too low, fools.

I cannot tolerate songs like "Somebody" - sappy ballads sung by MLG = zzzz. (This does not include "The Things You Said" which is awesome and was on my ballot.)

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 5 May 2012 00:39 (eleven years ago) link

But Not Tonight: a song that rose tons in my estimation in recent years. It's an anthem that's ambiguous about that.

Euler, Saturday, 5 May 2012 00:40 (eleven years ago) link

"But Not Tonight" was my #1

lol I own that spring '93 Details magazine, remarkable for editor in chief William Shaw writing a story in which he accepts Dave Gahan's word that he's "changed" when Gahan had hit his nadir.

Halo has always seemed like one of the minor tracks on Violator to me, but Violator is so good that even its minor tracks are better than a lot of the rest of DM's catalogue.

Disagree -- they're masters of their game on this track. Rarely have their histrionics been used to such moving affect. Beautiful strings!

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 5 May 2012 01:05 (eleven years ago) link

Everything about Behind the Wheel is perfect imo. It builds through the first verse, picks up steam in the second with the addition of the snare, and so on and so forth.

"I'm going cheap."
