I'm not really a Doobies fan but I like "What a Fool Believes." Great single.

Listen To The Music - hella groovy, super joyful

It's absolutely What a Fool Believes - few bands that have walked the earth can claim a song that good

Sticking outside their big singles, "I Cheat the Hangman" is a favorite of mine. That tune has a bit of everything in it, it is probably as close to prog/krautrock as the Doobie Brothers ever got and it's got some top harmony singing on it too.

My favorite non-hit is probably You're Made That Way

1. China Grove, which at 14 is where I decided "this is what they mean by 'riff rock'." (Riff rock runners up: Every other Tom Johnston song.)

Honorable Mention. Without You, which at 14 is where I decided "this is what they mean by 'a rave up'."

"What a Fool Believes," by a nose over "Long Train Running." It's a coin toss for me, though.

"Keeps You Running" has the best bassline.

Poll: “What A Fool Believes” vs. the Spinners’ “Working My Way Back To You” vs. Pablo Cruise’s “Love Will Find A Way” vs. Robbie Dupre’s “Steal Away.”

I came to the conclusion that I'm not really a fan after doing a deep dive a few years back, but "Losin' End" was the one non-single album cut that stood out for me. (I think McDonald re-recorded it as a single years later.)

"What a Fool Believes" is the only track I really play anymore.
