Bennie & the Jets was a single, your poll is invalid, voted for Nobody Beats the Biz anyway.

Built To Spill's "Twin Falls" has a weirdly similar vocal
I see you working croup

Bennie & the Jets was a single
it was a flexidisc inside a magazine

...which is to say, a single.

a single is something that's eligible for the singles chart imo. I don't think a flexi is, as you're not buying the record, you're buying the magazine & you get the flexi with it. a flexi is its own thing. there's disparate us/uk rules that muddy the waters (your single is ineligible for the charts in the UK if it has more than one song per side) but I think "released as a standalone 7" is a fair enough rule for "single"

My jukebox full of the backs of cereal boxes begs to differ with you. But, as I said, I voted "Nobody Beats" anyway, despite the draconian music-business-insider pedantry of this poll. It is also a better song than Bennie, but by just a hair.
