Two things I can't forgive: Cheney authorizing torture and Disney tourists in August tearing into turkey legs.

a lot of people think the "haunted mansion" is childish and not very scary...but what if i told you that one of those old-fashioned trunks in the attic was literally packed with human placentas

what if I told you it was packed with 200-year-old turkey legs

i love the haunted mansion too! but you gotta admit that if piles of human and/or turkey flesh were just kind of heaped everywhere throughout it would really take it to the next level

california adventure is getting a swinging new band of roaming entertainers called "five and dime." they play...instruments?

i'm going to give the artist the benefit of the doubt and assume that's meant to be a whimsical dr. seuss-style horn instrument, and not the tentacle porn it so strongly resembles

Three days until I'm in Disney World! I am a little excited, obv., and I think I'm going to eat at Boma! Flavors of Africa and the gardeny food place in Epcot for my meals.

disney changes "water-spouting fish" ride element because the piece of plastic going in and out of the fish's mouth looks too phallic. what is it with "the little mermaid" and phalluses, damn.

just got back this morning - i'll aim to update later. had a great time, really loved epcot and animal kingdom. watched disney vets do gut surgery on a goat at the, err 'conservation station' and ate the best buffet food of my life at animal kingdom lodge. wish i'd stayed at the lodge, actually...

the fantasyland expansion looks very lovely, but it meant that the MK was greatly reduced. the new art of animation resort looks really amazing, also.

what do you mean reduced -- it's smaller?

yeah. a lot of real estate has been taken over in the building of 'storybook circus.' it's hard to know what to expect – a very odd forced-perspective beauty and the beast castle is rising out of rocks installed behind constuction panels.

when I went in February it looked like a physical expansion of Fantasyland not a foreshortening -- ugh.

In a dozen trips since 2001 I STIlL haven't been to Animal Kingdom or the Lodge, despite hearing wonders about Jiko and its South African wine selection.

oh yeah and "cars land" opens today at DCA, everyone says it's amazing, w/e

have to admit that I was kind of bummed to miss it when I visited DCA back in March

yeah i'm seething with jealousy as i read twitter ppl's reactions to it. i don't care about the cars franchise at all but the rides + theming sound pretty top-notch.

There's a fair chance that Disney can pull this off in a non-creepy way. The Kim Possible adventure that they had at Epcot is a good example of a more interactive experience that worked really well.

i might go to disneyland sometime in the next couple of months, for a day. should i?? i grew up with disney stuff and have tons of nostalgic attachment to 50s-60s disneyana. plus i like fun.

My daughter did the interactive Phineas and Ferb quest and loved it. Basically a scavenger hunt with fake cell phones.
